About $250 in the August September months. That's for 5,000 sqft of air at 76 day time 73 sleeping time. 100% Spray foam insulated.

I'm gonna offer a piece of unsolicited advice. Nothing in this world is gonna get cheaper. I know you have a circumstance that sounds like it limits what you can do in the workforce. That said you are gonna have to figure out a way to make more money. Uber, door dash, give plasma hell I don't know but something. You are setting yourself up for disaster otherwise. If you budget doesn't allow for at least some use of the air conditioner you need to reevaluate what's going on.

Cause they look better? More durable against hail?

Several neighbors have black roofs. Dark colors are not more durable against hail they just hide the dings better.

I never will understand people that make life a lot less comfortable and a lot more complicated. The mental aptitude of the average person to simply navigate life is unreasonably low.

Wait until Jan 2025 when karmella comes in like a turd in a punch bowl. Households that make less than 6 figures today, I am not sure how they are surviving...

I have a niece that lives in Plano. She posted a rant on FB that her dad comes over and turns her thermostat up. She keeps it at about 68 and says she will eat Ramen noodles if she has to to afford the electricity. I told my brother that she needs to get outside more and acclimate to the heat.

I make 6 figures after taxes. No kids. No spouse. Mortgage with a very small balance. Car paid off. Even I am scaling back like crazy. I don’t understand how people are doing it on a 5 figure income with kids.

I make 5 figures on a fixed income. If you don't have the money. It's too simple. You go without. Me not running the AC is a personal choice. I'm comfortable as a bug. I can use that money on other comforts.

Like a Dr Infrared Heater Portable Space Heater that's advertised as being suitable for 500 square feet. My living space is ~350. Which will allow me to use only electricity for heat. It's a 1500watt heater. Less wattage then this vintage split unit. That'll use both gas and electricity.

We have a month and a week before all y'all start talking about the cold.

I make ok money I guess, wife has a nice little job. You sure can't live very comfortable in McKinney with three teenagers in 2024. It's nuts. It's $90 for us to go to the local Chinese buffet before drinks or tax, or tip etc.

I don’t know how anyone could be comfortable with 80 inside a house!! Being comfortable is one thing I don’t skimp on. 72 during the day and 68-69 at night during the summer. I’d be miserable at 80

It's all in your head. You've been conditioned to require an AC. I'm perfectly comfortable at 80. Drinking hot coffee..

I'm sure the ladies will be impressed with eating dinner at that table in a sauna. Maybe that will encourage them to strip

The ones that's been over, so far, have been surprised. The secret is air flow. Making sure there's a breeze going through the house.

What people are use to is the AC going down. Experiencing that going from cold to hot shock. Scrambling the inter temperature. You can experience this if you walk over to the thermostat and flip it off. Of course, You'll be in misery. Because you're conditioned. Hence the name. Air conditioner.

Grasshopper. Is there a reason that you won’t just go get a job?

Oh how I can dream.

I'm a service connected disabled veteran. I suffered a major TBI plus other things. In 10 years I'll probably be in a wheelchair. In 15 a veterans home. Forgetting how to pee.

This ain't getting good nothing. I'm never getting better. Everyone is always, love the veterans. Thank you for the service. But when you see how your veterans live. It's a laugh fest. You only know what I post. You have no idea what I go through or have been through.

That's why.

So…with all that being said…should you own and carry a gun if your condition is as bad as you claim? Should you be driving a car? You seem to be able to operate power tools just fine. What exactly is stopping you from getting a job?

I’m 100% P&T myself. I get up, go to work, and don’t play the poor veteran card. People CHOOSE the life they live. The laugh fest is brought upon yourself
