Fiskars for Kids at WM. You can usually find them for a couple bucks. $0.99 in the start to school sale bin. I buy a dozen or so every year and toss them as needed. I've tried expensive ones. Don't work any better.
Tip for any braid cutting tool - Don't cut mono or FC with it. I carry a pair of dykes to cut those.

Sharp pocket knife is my preferred method, and usually the cleanest. If you only have nippers available, pinch down on the line and then pull with the nippers with a quick jerking motion.

Most folks have never experienced a sharp knife. Considering the factory edge as the standard for being sharp. Which is ok for the manufacturer. The equipment to grind an edge out to 1000grit isn't cheap. Polished to 2000 even more with 3 micron hone... A 600 grit final edge will saw through braided line like nothing. A 1000 grit edge pushed against a cutting board will surgical cut braid. But then again, it all depends on the steel and what grit edge and edge angle it performs at. I don't own a knife that won't shave paper. Including kitchen knives.

Decades ago when catfishing line suddenly became “superline” for bass fishing I have been using these scissors for as long as I can remember. They work great, cheap and you can get them anywhere:

Letter opener with the shielded razor blade, cheap and easy to attach around dash for convenience. Goes through braid like a hot knife on butter.
