I think some people keep trying to make it a bigger deal than it really is or make it more mainstream but I question if it ever will be. It's 50 years into this who pro fishing thing and it's still a niche activity. I wonder if the 2 leagues would just focus on doing what they do best and not trying to mainstream it all if the game wouldn't be better off. You don't always have to have worldwide domination. Just be the best at what you do and make a successful and profitable business. This would be too simple, each organization is holding grudges that should have never existed.

... Those are some great points. I'm curious about the ticket sales aspect. I'm sure this has been tried, but why can't a boat/tackle show be held in conjunction with each Elite like the Classic? Is there that little interest? All major bass tournaments are held on public waterways... I'd be surprised if any major golf tournaments are held on a public course... I'd love to see a duffer show up at a major and just tee off and play the course like it's a regular Saturday afternoon... Dan

Some places people pay to see the expo regardless. When BASS came to Fort Worth I had to fork over $20 or so just to park for the Expo, of course that probably all goes in the pockets of the city of Fort Worth.

How much would you pay for a pass to get in Expo and wiegh in. I think if they cant get 50 bucks a person, $5 for a kid it speaks to how little value people place on the experience.

Dan The majors are played on public courses very often- The Masters being the exception.

I think the fact that it's historically been free for 50 years would cause a backlash if they charged as well. Just look at the subscription platform outdoor channels and shows. They don't seem to kill it numbers wise. I cant help but thinkif being are just conditioned to it being free and trying to charge for it would end up hurting more than it helped?

I think at some point they have to figure out more ways to monetize themselves are they won't be able to keep anglers. And please understand that I'm saying that assuming that at some point a bunch in the field figure out basic math skills. The only thing keeping these deals going right now is the fact that 70 to 80 percent of the fields in major tours can't add and Subtract or they hate money, I'm not sure which

The statistics say more people actually fish nationwide than play golf.

The statistics say more people actually fish nationwide than play golf. If you count all kinds of fishing you’d have to also count people going to top golf and whacking balls..

How many guys you know that don't have at least 1 set of clubs in garage. I hope I never play another round of Golf and I have 4 sets of clubs, 7 or 8 putters, 2 or 3 drivers and God knows what else. My wife won't get in a boat with me but she is all in on going to watch professional golf. She has never hit a golf ball in her life.....
