Aviation.

Two major airlines in the metromess. Be an F/A…or, get any job then bid into your area of interest when openings come up.

(Commute from Frisco would be brutal)

Seems like a lot of business these days revolve around the medical field. One of my sons has a business degree and works for a medical management company. He manages two doctor offices. Lots of upward movement and the company seems to be growing steadily. Good benefits and acceptable salary.

Tell him to go Police officer. Then, any town in the country. He can find a job. And having a degree opens promotion doors.

Lots of openings for firefighter/paramedics or firefighter/EMTs right now. If he has a clean background and in somewhat decent shape many cities will pay for all the training too. Some starting salaries are in the $75,000-100,000 range and work 48hrs on/96hrs off schedule.

No one wants to do the job these days. Used to have 25-50 applicants minimum per open position and you already had to be certified but those days are going away. Some openings would be over 100 applicants per openings and cities like Fort Worth would have several hundred into a couple thousand show up for open testing. Crazy how times have changed.
A few years on the job and $100,000 plus annually is realistic in some places and that is before OT.

Apparently, there is a huge lack in the dining room table building industry. Seems to be many an opening there.

Oh no there's not. It's just $500-$3500+ for a table.

Semiconductor industry. TI specifically. They have a lot of expansion happening in Sherman. Good luck to him!

Keep looking forward. That’s why windshields are larger than rear view mirrors.
