I shoot Browning model 525 over/under 20 gauge and start out season with improv. cyl./light mod cokes... later in year/colder weather,we get migratory birds with thicker plumage and I use light mod/mod chokes even use Imp. mod. if birds are flying high.....I've got a Browning Gold 20 Ga. auto that I shoot several times a year....belong to a dove club that leases primarily peanut fields from farmers for shoots,.....we get a lot of later season migratory birds in southwest Georgia so it's not unusual for us to have 20-30 dove shoots each year and some of our best dove shoots are mid to late january.....

I`m pretty sure my 45 year old Remington 870 Wingmaster is a modified barrel.

I've got a mid 50's 870 wingmaster 3 inch magnum with 30 inch full choke barrel and early 90's 870 that has screw in chokes....when I first moved to south georgia back in late 80's,the only shotgun I had was the 870 wingmaster with full choke barrel....tried using it couple times on dove field....my shooting percentage wasn't very good but when I did hit one,it was very dead....

improv. cyl./light mod chokes. 7 1/2 and/or 6 shot. Used to use 8 and unless you hit them in the eye they keep flying with a few dusted feathers.

I’ll change out between full modified and improved as the fly patterns change throughout the day

I have been alternating between a browning twelvette modified and a beretta upland modified. Going to try the light mod in the beretta this year. Last year a vaporized a couple close birds.

Last year a vaporized a couple close birds. after shooting Beretta silver pigeon over/under and 391 auto 20 gauges in argentina for years,if i had to buy a new gun tomorrow,I'd buy a Beretta...they feel great, almost never malfunction and I like the "feel" of them and I shoot good with them (or maybe it's just argentina)....they have #7 shot down there and i wish it was available here in high brass shells (1300 FPS or above)... here i shoot either Rio or Winchester AA super handicap 1300 FPS 7 1/2 shot shells seem to work best for me.........

I have a Winchester 101 over and under I think Mod on top and full on bottom.

My favorite shotgun is a Browning BPS in 12ga. Second is the Remington 870.
If I had an over/under. It'd be Ruger Red Label in 20ga.
