That juice just isn't worth the squeeze in my opinion. He's got a great deal going with his content, and making baits. I'd hang up the BASS deal, and do as suggested above. Fishing big local stuff he will make a ton more money of tournament winnings. Castledine definitely has it figured out trying to truly make money off tournament purses.

What's this "grind" everyone talks about???... Doesn't everyone grind during the work week???... Heck, I know I did... I was on the road 3 to 4 days a week, spent many holidays working or in a hotel room many miles from home and family, did it for 26 years... All this boo-hooing about travel and 12 hour days gets old... I've told a lot of my colleagues, stop whining or find another line of work... There are a thousand more waiting for you to quit so they can step in and give it a try... Dan

It sounds like you made it work and I applaud you- but bottom line it’s just not for most people.

Explain to me why anybody would want that? 4 top 10s and a win and Trey McKinney didn't even make 200K  and miiken finished what top 1/3rd of the field and basically lost money? They can make more money for their sponsors with actual content not fishing the elites. If you see Miliken come back Id be very surprised. Maybe BASS should focus on actually paying their "pros." If you are paying entry fees and expenses at that level, you should go home. Or get a better agent.

Someone could probably do the math real quick...how many in BASS this year actually made a decent living just off tournament winnings after a normal season of expenses? It has to be less than 10% of the filed would be my guess. Sponsorship is probably where the salary comes from.

Sorry dude you are out of touch. I worked directly in the industry for 20 years and very few get everything covered. There are quite a few that get partial entries paid but very few get full entries paid and even fewer get expenses.
