A few things.....add mental training for them....they have to have thought about pulling the trigger, or whatever defensive tactics they need to do thousands of times before they do it...

Add situational awareness while out .... part of the mental aspect

Add aggressive and evasive defensive driving to their prep...

Get shooting insurance family plan..
