I'm 47 and this is one event that I'm happy to see in the Olympics. Breaking is a worldwide activity and folks around the globe are pushing their bodies to the limits to get to new moves / heights. But I'm also a guy that likes Olympic BMX, Surfing, and Skateboarding.

Ok, talented athletic people, no doubt. But Olympic sport? Personally, I don't think events where the winner is determined subjectively by a judge is a real sport. That includes figure skating, gymnastics, and about half the other events, but I lost that fight a long time ago.

LA opted against breaking. Instead, cricket, flag football, lacrosse, squash and baseball-softball will be part of the line-up. Cricket?

Cricket is a real sport, but it's mostly popular in the South Pacific and Indian Ocean countries. I'm actually surprised it hasn't been in the Olympics before, but flag football? I think that's only played in the US, and mostly by elementary school students.

Break dancing but no baseball? Probably 'cause there's a lot of crying in the Olympics but no crying in baseball.
