Nope, no coastal fishing here, but the water in our rivers and creeks is clean and a ton of rivers and creeks to fish without posted signs everywhere.

Exactly. And that's not TPWD's fault.

When I was a kid, they passed a 1/10 cent sales tax in Missouri strictly for conservation. Goes directly to Department of Conservation so bypasses the greasy palms of the legislature. Wonderful and plentiful facilities with proper maintenance and they've added lots public land

Texas has a whole lot more resources that need to be covered by our license fees, and a whole lot more land and different types of topography that needs to be covered. Arkansas has a fraction of the things available in texas. Texas has saltwater, mule deer, rio grande turkeys, and about 5 different types of terrains to name a few. More resources=more money to keep up with all of it and staff are likely still spread much more thin. Also, you skipped the elephant in the room- arkansas sucks.

Also in the National forest you can ride 4 wheelers, side by sides ect, but not in Texas. Arkansas also takes care of the bank fisherman. They provide and maintain places all over the place to bank fish. Instead of spraying and killing out the vegetation like tpwd, they do things to help growth, like lowering the lake level in Millwood right now. Yawl need to start writing some letters to your state reps and and complaining. Texas has been ripping people off for years. Born and raised in Texas but will never go back.

Challenges in Texas are prolly different than Arkansas, I think they do a good job. Im ok with the ATV trails, I do think East Texas is limited in this regard.

So if it's not TPWD fault then why did you even ask?

If you'll read the first post in this thread it should be obvious to you. Or not........

This thread won’t amount to much except an argument between the “ I stick up for Texas no matter what” crowd, and the folks that can see what’s really going on. Notaguide has it nailed, TPWD is about one thing,
revenue. Any way they can milk you for it, bottom line.
