I have a 2006 300hp yamaha vmax. Its been sitting in storage for 3 month because the area lakes been flooded. Everything on the boat has power except the motor. No clicking, no tilt trim. nothing. Where should I start troubleshooting? Thanks in advance.

The two battery cables to the motor, would be my bet, or power switch off

I just ran out to storage thinking it was the kill switch cable but it's still attached. I tightened the cables to the battery and recharged it and still nothing. Everything else attached to that battery is working. I have to finish installing and wiring a power brake in the morning, other than checking fuses, not sure what else it could be.

Got to be a battery shut off, or bad ground

mercury there is a fuse box behind the trim switch in corling, there are 2 20 amps ans1 2 amp and 1 5
if any 20 are blown reolace with the one inside the cover, only 1 supplied extra, if there is one blown check the 10o amp link fuse above it,
Making a mistake and causing a spark at the battery on a mecr will blow one or more fuses

I'm hoping that's what it is. Other than that not sure what else to check right now.

I had a 2005 yamaha hpdi that the motor ground stud broke and did not have power to anything. Located under cowling bottom front driverside of engine. I believe there are also some engine fuses on the same side or rear of engine.

I tried to upload image of fuse but couldn't figure it out. It ended up being a 100amp little blue square box fuse located under the cowling (cover) of the Moter. There is a cover marked fuses. There is a diagram and one of the fuses is marked I believe power to motor. It has two screws to take it off. There is actually a spare under the cover. I put the spare on and wah lah, everything works. Getting ready to order another to put back under cover, like $10. Wonder how much a shop would have changed me. Thank you all for your input and advise.

No telling what they’d charge, but it would take em a month to get the boat working. Haha

It's something simple... Have you checked to see it the motor isn't in gear???... I know on Mercury's if it in gear it won't do anything... But the trim should work... Just spitballing... Dan
