These are the teams with the lowest franchise values. Jerry knows playoff wins and recent Superbowls have very poor correlation to the bottom line. Its all about branding and marketing, young son! thats a pretty telling graph right there Cowboys are at the top, and I suspect they were at the top before Jerry. Thanks to Tex Schramm. The cowboys were losing 1 million a month when Jerry bought them, they were basically bankrupt. They were poorly managed, but he paid $150 million for them, that tells me that was the market value of the Cowboys. And looks like that was a good deal. Back then many NFL teams had poor cash flow. This was before the era of lucrative TV deals, stadium naming rights contracts, salary cap and more, and many folded. Jerry drove all those changes and lifted cowboys financially and the whole NFL, now all teams make money. Pretty sure that is why Jerry is in the hall of fame, all the business and marketing contributions he made that financially lifted the whole NFL.

Yes, Cowboys LLC were all caught up in that Houston Savings and Loan disaster when Jerry purchased the franchise.

Chasing money as the primary priority in life is not a quality or value most respect….quite the opposite. Really accurate statement

Yes, Cowboys LLC were all caught up in that Houston Savings and Loan disaster when Jerry purchased the franchise. The whole saving and loan industry was going bankrupt, and Bum Bright was owned some himself. He was a terrible owner from what I remember. I personally was excited to see a new owner buy the Cowboys and an owner that wanted to win. It sure started out good. But Bum did buy the Cowboys for $85m and sold to Jerry for $150m.

Of course it’s about making money for him…but he also wants to win a Super Bowl. Winning a Super Bowl brings in more money than not winning one wouldn’t you think? I would think so which makes the argument that he’s chasing money seem a little silly. I don’t think not winning super bowls helps the Cowboy franchise valuation! These are the teams with the lowest franchise values. Jerry knows playoff wins and recent Superbowls have very poor correlation to the bottom line. It’s all about branding and marketing, young son!
Since the 2019-2020 NFL season, the Chiefs have inflated by at least $2 billion. The franchise was worth $2.3 billion in 2019, according to Statista. After three Super Bowl appearances and two rings, the team's value rose to $4.3 billion by August of 2023This information would tend to refute your argument that winning super bowls has little to do with the bottom line.

Rising tide floats all boats. Even Carolina has increased by a billion the last four years.

If you don’t believe that teams normally increase in value because of winning championships…..well, sorry doc, but that’s just being obstinate IMO.

It’s a small factor.
Just look at the Saints and Buccaneers values. The Bucs have won two Superbowls since 2000…and have eleven playoff wins since 1996 vs the Cowboys five playoff wins in that time period…but they will never soar in value because NASCAR, the Gators, and Florida State will always dominate that market.

Cowboys are the antithesis of that I agree, that’s why I said “normally”. There are exceptions to every rule.

It's the dumbest thing said about Jones actually....currently they make bank on brand...Superbowl champion Dallas cowboys are a whole other level if bank
