I gotta build two secret compartments in a customers car. One for guns and the other for, ummm, “stuff”.

I know the ethics involved. I am not the one that’s gonna put “stuff” in it. I’m just the builder. Like a gun manufacturer, I build stuff for people. How they use the stuff isn’t my problem.

Step one….look at it and start cutting [censored] outta the way.

I've seen videos of the police finding "stuff". There are no new places that I am aware of so if you build it they will find it. You are good to go.

Guns and "stuff" are a big deal with the police.

That's called a 4th amendment modification and it's most excellent.

He's a working man. I applaud that these days.

Build on.

A quick box made with 1/4” mdf and superglue. 3” deep, 8” wide, by 13” long.

I’m gonna build new backs to these seats so they all match, use a power door lock actuator and a bolt style latch to keep it locked. I am also using a magnetic feed switch, mounted in underneath the headliner, and a magnet on the keychain to activate it. Just touch the magnet to the headliner fabric in the right spot, then the door lock motor will unlatch the door.

Just for the record….i built a gun safe in the dash of a Camaro 14 years ago….the car has been impounded twice by police and the guns are still in his dash. The trim across the bottom of the airbag, the entire piece , motorizes out of the dash on drawer slides. When it’s closed, it’s impossible to tell it exists.

They find stuff when it’s done incorrectly. Haha.

But, yes, if they are getting searched, it’s usually too late. roflmao
This is more to keep the competition away.

That one I used a PAC TR7 to activate upon flipping the power mirror switch selector to the right, left, right, left in under two seconds. Very reliable and almost impossible for someone to stumble across.

Seems like Allison is living rent-free in your head.

I get it was supposed to be an insult but it was pretty lame and makes you look a bit dumb imo

So does Trump take up a lot of room “rent free”? If you bet theres room in his head, you kind of took away the entire point of your insult

Looks like it will be tomorrow or Monday for the cool stuff to get here. I made a template for the 1/8th inch steel back of the seat. I will weld hinges to the steel and then cover it in some black Ozite carpet. To look like the factory back cover.
The magnetic reed switch and the actuator are being Amazoned to me.

Don’t know without looking at one really close. This person has a 2023 Corvette convertible. We put custom wheels on it. I’m sure I might get called upon to do something in that car too. He also has a 2024 Armored Escalade. I just finished working on it. Then this 2024 Buick station wagon looking thing shows up for me to build this in. This car is VERY anonymous looking. Fits in at Target, the mall, the zoo, haha. Everywhere a mom and three kids would go.
We didn’t headliner yesterday, so I was able to cut a spot out of the cardboard backing for the reed switch before it was covered in black suede.

Don’t know what I’ll charge him yet. Gotta see how much time it takes. It’s only about $150 in parts and material. The labor is gonna be the kicker.

That is exactly what Mike Long was doing.

He would win every two man tourney he fished solo... but almost never did any good when he fished with someone.

There was the one time he did well in a team deal and his partner was pretty sure Mike pretended to have a fish on, and pretended to reach into the water and lip it, and what he did was grab a line that had a fish tied to it already... He did well in that one with a partner.

Anyway cool secret compartment... be sure to put a little holder for some coffee grounds to throw off the K9 ha ha

While you're pricing that out, keep in mind that it will probably hold around $5 million worth of Fentanyl.

They make mistakes too.

One time, long time ago, the popo ran a drug dog through my buddies car... we had a pack of smokes with 5 joints inside of it in the glove box. Dog did not alert.

We were sure we were done for... and this was back when in Nevada any possession of any amount was a felony.

Good dog.

Not enough for a dog to hit on, but yes…it’s possible.

Yes. But, it’s not easy to get to. Flip the seat down a stick your finger in where the seat latch bolt would be, then using the tip of your finger you can slide the drive pin of the motor back and it will release the latch. But, you have to know the layout before hand or you’ll never know it’s possible.

Now we know why Steez needed the hot rod Yami, so he could out run the GW on the water and have time to empty his secret compartment. hammer

I don’t even own butt connectors. Everything is soldered.

Coming along nicely. The bolt latch is pretty solid. Added some magnets to the frame also, to make it seem far more solid. The thing won’t open without triggering the latch. Just have to finish out the inside a little more. Then wire it into the car.

Thanks guys. The last part is wiring the reed switches. It’s a cool function, but they have to be kept secret. Yards and yards of black leather and back suede. The magnet has to be within an inch of the right spot to activate the latch. Just imagine a magnet being touched to a specific spot and the door pops open.

Hah. It’s done. I made what the customer wanted. I get my kicks building the stuff. I like the challenge of figuring out what can be done and how. My part is finished.

…..on to the next episode.
