Not sure what it was called back in the early 70s. We rode it to the state fair from north Dallas. I will never forget when by buddy brought some eggs with him. Back then you could open the windows on bus. When we stopped at a light he would put his arm out and wave at people in a car then reach behind him grab an egg and hit the car in windshield. DTS. Dallas Transit System. Buses ran up and down in front of our house on Lindsey when I was a kid. You may have rode right past me on the way to the fair from your fancy north Dallas neighborhood. Never lived in Dallas and never will but did live in a somewhat fancy neighborhood in Richardson. We drove to a park and ride. I believe it was off Preston road.

DART only brought in poverty and crime
I didn't vote for it
Jerry Jones had new bus system to replace DART and it didn't make the vote.

I would not ride with anything less than 2 handguns on my person. Great move, 1974, NY architect anti-gun liberal gets tired of the thugs and changes his ways.

Jerry Jones had new bus system to replace DART and it didn't make the vote. Yep. It is a cheap ride to transport thugs and ne'er-do-wells into the suburbs where the pickin's are better. DART was a huge detriment to Rowlett as one example. Crime skyrocketed.

I was working at a customer site in downtown Dallas and had a half day off. Out of curiosity I purchased a ticket and rode one of the lines to Carroltons Babes Chicken for lunch and back. Cool adventure and they busted some chick for no ticket. She kept pleading it was behind the seat,under the Sear.
She was booted next stop. Don't quote me on this this but I believe you get a fine for no ticket
