The day was cloudy and fresh and the bite was hot. As we were headed to where we've been having the best results. We noticed the clouds were getting thicker and darker but we were determined to fish. We decided that we would put on our rain jackets and fish tru the rain. The fish never stopped biting. We were catching white bass, gasper gou, lmb






We caught a double. While I was fighting a smallie Leo hooked on to something big. I landed my smallie put it down, grabbed the net and when i turned around i saw this big bass. It got in position and I swooped it up. It was so cool. Took a pic with my smallie threw it back. The bass weighed 7.89lbs 23 in long. That was exciting!


After that excitement we went and hit the crappie. Crappie bite was pretty hot too.









We went back Sunday evening and the bite wasn't as hot. We had to work for our fish. Leo had caught a few me zero. I really didn't want a 🦨. I kept working my 1/4 oz JIGLYF jig on the bottom and boom fish on. Hooked on to a nice striper. Stinker gone🙃.

We also caught a gasper gou, lmb, white bass and a crappie




We had a great weekend.
Caught all fish on JIGLYF jigs and released to swim another day.

Wow ! Congrats on a great trip. Didn't take you 2 very long get this river figured out. That bass is a monster trophy fish. (Even the dog can't stop looking at it )

It has been many years ago that I have fished that part of Amistad where the Devils River flows into it. Great pictures and some very nice fish. Thanks for sharing.
