Well the wife has been traveling to visit family and such and has been gone a good long while, a man gets lonesome, now I am in love with Caitlan Clark the WNBA star.

But in all seriousness IDK if Caitlan makes pho, and wife does not either, so its all bullocks really.

Since I have you Z, you a ladies man, any tips on how to slide into those DMs with of Miss Clark? I sent her a note, but it did not seem to do the trick... Maybe I should bake her a cake or something like that Mexican guy did in Napoleon Dynamite?

No. I wish. That is a great idea. That would rule. I would buy that.

It does take pho-ever. That is why only Viet's really make it at home. Its all about the broth and I guess that takes 8-10 hours to get that deep flavoring in it.

Love pho. But have never had it homemade per se.

Now if there was some sort of machine like 1shot thought up... I would try it.

Is your MIL Viet? I bet that would be good. I have a Vietnamese friend who used to work with me, she makes it at home sometimes and posts pics on IG... I get so jelly. Looks incredible. And she knows the right days to make it on as well... Those cold gloomy days in like late fall... so damn good.

What in the heck is pho?

Im not a fan of pho. I tried it a few times in restaurants in Carollton and Farmers branch with co workers, and it tasted like ocean bottom. Folks were dousing it with some hot sauce to kill the taste. Sorry but Im out on it.

What!? No way. It should not taste like ocean at all. Did you get some sort of seafood version? The best Pho in DFW is actually in Carrollton, Pho Pasteur on Beltline.

Always just get the special #1 bowl. Seafood pho, meatball pho etc. is for the more advanced.

I get mine with extra tripe. Again, an acquired taste. Most honkeys do not like tripe but I do.

I'm sure some like it, but I gave it several fair shots and no dice with me. There were some squishy slimy things in there too that you didn't know what they were. Some things looked like the gills of a fish. I wished it tasted more like good old fashioned chicken soup, but alas it did not.

I live in a pho free zone.

Well at first Zach thought I was getting a new pho machine but I thought he was thinking I was getting divorced or something since I had said in another thread about me and Caitlan Clark getting married that I had a "new pho maker" on the way. As in maybe the "pho maker" is your woman.

But then we got onto talking about actual Pho... the making of it, who makes it at home, who likes it, who does not and so forth.

Be very careful when eating pho. I like to add extra chili sauce to my pho. Well, I was slurping the noodles up and the end of one noodle sort of did a flip up and I got chili sauce in my eye. Thought I was going to go blind.

Luckily I had a glass of water on the table and flushed that sauce out of my eye but it still burned for a few minutes more.

I have had pho that wasn't as good as others but even mid pho is pretty dang good.

I like a good spicy pho that makes your whole head drain

If I am wearing glasses I have to take them off and usually wear a shirt I can get dirty.

Go drop her off at Vietnamese restaurant and have her work there for a few weeks... tell her she cannot quit until she has learned how to make the goods. They ALWAYS have a help wanted sign up.

Noted! Next time we go... likely wont be till fall. Pho does not go down well in summer for me. Its a cool weather thing in my mind.

Yea my boss loves that stuff. He told me one day that I needed to be more cultured and eat something other than beef potatoes and beans.
I reluctantly went with him to one of those Pho places in DFW area.
When we walked in I looked at all the other peoples bowls that looked much like yours above, with that sea weed, or pond moss or whatever and some boiled meat. Pretty positive there was scrambled eggs in there too.
He said “damn this looks good”
I said “ it smells like sweaty feet, you don’t smell that”
He emptied the bowl. I ate some crackers and hot sauce.
