What color reel do you guys like best and why? Asking for a friend. I like them highly polished so I can see my reflection in it when I set the hook.

Shinano is the best reel company. You can get parts the next day or 2 at most. But they are not the best reel on the market very well said!

Daiwa makes the best spinning reels, it’s important to have anti reverse switches on spinning reels, and Shimano made the dumb decision to remove them from their reels.
Shimano and Daiwa make equal quality baitcasters, I think Shimano parts ordering system is better.

I guess I'm stirring the pot here. Sougayilang. I've used Revos and Daiwas forever. I broke my wrist and needed to change hands a couple of years ago. I didn't know how that would work out so I bought a couple of Sougayilangs for around $40. I now own 10 and haven't had any problems except the spool bearings are suspect. I replaced them with ceramic hybrids. Spinning reels for under $20 are great as well. I've already caught a 7 and 9 on the spinning reels this year. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one fishing Bass Champs with these. I had no intentions of using them long term but if it works, why spend 10X the money? My partner thought I was crazy at first but he just shakes his head now. By the way, I've got about 50 right-handed baitcasters if you're looking to add to your collection.

There is a lot of variants to consider when buying reels and my personal experience the best reel comes down to what you need it to do and what you are willing to pay. I own Shimano, ABU Garcia, Quantum, Lews, Johnson, and even Zebco. I have cheap reels and I have expensive reels but they all do a job and do it well or I don't keep them.

I broke my wrist and needed to change hands I knew that one would not go unnoticed. All I can say is, it was one heck of a day!

Curious if anyone get any value from questions like this? Opinions change, and are subject to the person. If your not sure what's the best don't buy all of the same brand of reels. I do this, I got shimano, older quantams, abu garcia revo. been a long time since i had a lews. No diawas ever. I have tried almost all BPS reels at some point. These days i have learned there is not enough diff to spend that much more.
Point is don't listen, make your own decisions. cause u can guarantee you are getting a biased answer. Just like my answer above.

When it all boils down, people buy what they can get their hands on when they go. Haha. I get a new Steez for my birthday and Christmas every year. They last forever. So….i have a bunch. If I bought an Abu or a cheaper Shimano, I’d have a couple, because they only last a couple years at best. Facts of life on well used equipment.
