...apple pie, and a WHAT?

Our new Tesla Model Y is badazz. We've had it, a little over 2 weeks, and this thing is a blast to learn, and drive. The app is so cool! I guess you call it a small SUV. It's all-wheel drive, works in the country, handles the 115 miles commute to Dallas, from Scroggins, no problem, has tons of storage, and costs a little less than half of what our gas vehicles consume on the round trip to Dallas, including errands, and appointments in the city. Yeah, you can spend 40 minutes, at a Supercharger (getting up to 80% charge), but for me, it's just time to catch up on work, or take a nap.

We financed it when they had a deal for less than 1%. Put $10k down, and may sell one of the trucks to pay it off.

You can find these, used, on the auto trading websites, for around $25-$40k, depending on year, and model (mostly less than 3 years old - models Y and 3).

We're definitely a gas vehicle family, but adding an EV, has been a fun, and a common sense choice.

Had a white one like that parked next to me yesterday. I had to look at the emblem to figure out what it was.

Awesome scooter! Probably would have gotten a different color, but the deal was too good to pass up.

Just got this via email. Good time to add a Tesla to your fleet. We have 5 gas, and one electric. Well, 2 electric, if you include the golf cart.

I really wanted a Cybertruck when they first started showing it, probably five years ago. I didn't see one in person until last week, saw two of them. I don't think I could drive it. I just passed them on the road, I can't speak to their quality or driving comfort but they stand out like a sore thumb. A purple Lamborghini would draw less attention. It looks like DeLorean and a Hummer H1 had a baby.

Nice place on the lake there JP! Very nice! I'm out on the electric vehicles. I love the smell of gas combustion engines.

Regarding the Tesla, make sure and park it away from anything flammable. yes

Who's they? Every vehicle loses a ton after you drive it off the lot.

If she didn't have tats, I'd have guessed it was one of my clients. She's a feisty lady, but she doesn't have any ink.

You won't see a Tesla sell for 50% off until several years after they are originally sold.
At least I have not seen one for sale that cheap. With several EV manufacturers cutting prices many who bought them at high prices are kind of locked into keeping them. If they sell they are taking a beating, but not half off.

They are locked in to keeping them until they have to buy another battery pack for $19,000.00!

So it takes 4 years to loose 50% value with less than 35K miles

The price of the 2020 Tesla Model S starts at $70,620 and goes up to $93,190 depending on the trim and options.

In all honesty, if politicians REALLY cared about more electric use they'd make it easier to register NEVs...aka cheap golf carts for road use.

If politicians really cared about electric vehicles they would have stayed away from them and let the market develop, when they made them a political bullet point they eliminated a giant portion of the potential buyers. Every EV I see and every house I see with solar panels I assume is a Democrat vote. It's my own personal way of vote counting. Now Elon just may be able to correct that. We shall see.

The end game is lowering CO2.
Its not even close to the first time that we have had mandates due to the environmental concerns.
Most electrical devices in the home have had standards changed in order to save energy with the intent of using less of it. Your water heater, stove and refrigerators use much less energy than they used to.
Homes are much more energy efficient than they used to be and it wasn't because the homeowners demanded it. Saving energy was forced on us.

That's the real reason people buy EV's. It's not because of the fuel savings, or because they want to save the planet, it is because they like to leave ICE vehicles in the dust when the light turns green.

And they are cool, and fun to drive.

It's funny to see all the 'Merica people on this forum, who always talk about their freedoms being taken away, turn into a bunch of wild piggies, trying to shame everyone away, from buying an EV.

I have been pondering the idea of trading in the gas equinox nerd mobile for a Toyota Rav4 Hybrid. SO I have the range and the benefits of EV when applicable. I love the Equinox for driving all over DFW to work, but mileage is up to 100K now.
