Who's they? Every vehicle loses a ton after you drive it off the lot.

You won't see a Tesla sell for 50% off until several years after they are originally sold.
At least I have not seen one for sale that cheap. With several EV manufacturers cutting prices many who bought them at high prices are kind of locked into keeping them. If they sell they are taking a beating, but not half off.

So it takes 4 years to loose 50% value with less than 35K miles

The price of the 2020 Tesla Model S starts at $70,620 and goes up to $93,190 depending on the trim and options.

In all honesty, if politicians REALLY cared about more electric use they'd make it easier to register NEVs...aka cheap golf carts for road use.

I think I would rather be seen riding that moped instead of driving that goofy looking truck, definitely would have to have really dark tinted windows lol.

If politicians really cared about electric vehicles they would have stayed away from them and let the market develop, when they made them a political bullet point they eliminated a giant portion of the potential buyers. Every EV I see and every house I see with solar panels I assume is a Democrat vote. It's my own personal way of vote counting. Now Elon just may be able to correct that. We shall see.

The end game is lowering CO2.
Its not even close to the first time that we have had mandates due to the environmental concerns.
Most electrical devices in the home have had standards changed in order to save energy with the intent of using less of it. Your water heater, stove and refrigerators use much less energy than they used to.
Homes are much more energy efficient than they used to be and it wasn't because the homeowners demanded it. Saving energy was forced on us.

Not for sale.
