For years I used a Jewell jig, then Black Angel, then for the last 10 years or so I’ve used one that maybe isn’t a true FB jig, the Strike King Structure Jig, because I think the hook is great, not too thick not too thin for setting the hook on a fish with a fair amount of line out.

TW has 96 choices for FB jigs! What is everyone else using and why?

Santone 3/4 oz. football jigs. Great colors and built well. And the owners are two of the best people you’ll ever meet!

+1
All of Santone jigs are awesome and I especially like the Swim Jigs because of the big stout hook and have lost next to no fish since I started using them many years ago.
And they are a local Texas company.

I like Dobyns FB jigs, skirts are a mi of rubber and silicone, however it appears they are discontinued.

If you like a compact jig, check out the Jewel Pee-Wee jigs, great for smallmouth,

Tightlinejigs Mussel Crawler is one I like also.

I’ve not been able to find one I thought was the best, so many of them are darn near the same, just easier to make my own and you don’t feel as bad breaking them off. If I was only buying jigs- I’ve caught the most fish on the cliff pace jigs.

I really like santone but I hate that they aren't tied with anything because after a few years on the shelf the skirt collar will get brittle and loose.

I don’t think I’ve ever had a skirt collar dry rot and fall off, I usually donate it to a brush pile long before that roflmao

How do you tie yours on? Copper wire?

1st choice - Jewell 3/8-3/4

2nd - Oldhams and Santone

Love SK structure jigs, great hook, not crazy about the trailer keeper.

Best grass jigs 1-1.5oz. - Santone, Oldhams and SK hack attack all great.

That’s my 2 cents worth.
