Thanks Rudy for posting the pictures. I have tried posting pictures but never successful.

As to the yellow netting, it was placed along the riverbank to keep fishermen from walking in certain areas as Alaska Game & Fish Departmen and other groups are trying to re-establish the habitat on the river's edge. This is the second year that the netting has been used and it tends to be working.

If you want the hair on the back of your neck to standup and a sinking feeling in your stomach, let a grizzly walk up to the river near where you are fishing. The grizzly in the pictures ran all of us off the river and as I was leaving, I was able to snap a couple of pictures. The sow with cubs was a good ways down the river and fishermen including myself were giving her plenty of room. I saw bears 7 different times while fishing the Kenai.

In the picture, Caught at Seward, Alaska, my son-in-law Steve is on the left and my nephew David Holman on the right. It was a great day of fishing in the Gulf of Alaska with limits of Halibut, Lingcod and Yelloweye Rock Fish.

The Bald eagle is on the endangered list but in Alaska you would not believe so since you see a lot of eagles on the rivers and coast line. When you are fishing and see our national emblem souring above with its white head & white tail featers standing out, it kind of puts a lump in your throat.

If you have never been to Alaska and have the opportunity to do so, don't pass it up. This is my 4th straight year to spend the summer in Alaska and I continue to be amazed at the breathtaking scenery, abundant wildlife and great fishing. Whether you are just sightseeing, fishing or both, it would be a trip you would never forget.
