As I’ve said before, nothing is going to change until enough people can feel the pain.
I’m talking about this entire administration.
I think we’re getting to the point that people are starting to feel the pain.
The pain is real.

This "war" is just about rich people getting richer. Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon and the like are rolling in it.
Nothing to do with freedom or the Ukrainian people.
"Ukraine is a gold mine with $12 trillion worth of critical minerals", US Senator Lindsey Graham said on 6/14/24. That is all this is about. We "win" and we get access to that. Russia wins they and China have it. Its all about money. Period.
I am not in favor of supplying Ukraine with anything...F them. They are basically Russians, so let Russia have what is theirs... this is very dangerous road we are on.

Yep, can't get half pregnant. You're either in or you're out. We finally made a good decision when we left Vietnam. No other significant dominoes fell.

In some ways WW3 has already started, it just hasn't gotten to the "everybody is shooting" stage. Do you think all those illegals are here just by chance?

I tend to see Ukraine flags with the same folks that need to announce their pronouns- it’s typical emotional behavior lacking in logic that got us into this.

Ukraine is a European issue and Europe needs to fix it. There is nothing Ukraine can offer or provide that we need bad enough to justify what we have spent. Every bullet or bomb we send them is one less for our troops. The $$$ dumped jn Ukraine should have been put into our own defense.
Our involvement in Ukraine has seriously weakened us at a time when we need to be building up. Exactly. Well stated.

As someone who has strongly supported assisting Ukraine against Russia, I must now say I think we are pushing our luck way too far. Up until about 3-4 months ago I think we were getting a pretty fantastic ROI on our money (mostly old weapons systems) destroying the Russian war machine. Their ability to conduct ground offensives has been diminished to the point of irrelevancy. Russia now poses basically zero threat to NATO through conventional war. We've exhausted our old stockpiles (many of which we would have had paid to have decommissioned anyway) and are sending new stuff that's costing us real money and pushing Putin into a corner.
I don't know where this ends, but allowing Ukraine to use US weapons against Russia in Russia is a step too far in my opinion. We are walking a very fine line with WWIII right now. I think your initial view of the situation was flawed. Looking at it through a ROI lens has given you a skewed perspective.

Our involvement in Ukraine has seriously weakened us at a time when we need to be building up. If Russia had steam rolled Ukraine, there is every reason to believe he would not have stopped there. Then it IS our problem. Hence, helping them resist served two purposes: 1. Forced him to expend vast resources on Ukraine. He's lost hundreds of thousands of men and at least 50% of his mechanized war capability. One of our main global Military competitors is now vastly diminished, this is a good thing. 2. It showed Putin the west would not just roll over and let him do whatever he wanted. The problem is we are now pushing it too far, and a wounded animal pushed into a corner can lash out in very dangerous ways. That's my concern. As usual, the US doesn't seem to have an exit strategy or know when to slow down or stop. Did you seriously expect any other outcome if we got involved? Do you really expect government to make sound, logical decisions as to when enough is enough? When has that ever happened in our history regarding a war we have been direct combatants in or assisting in? We simply could look at the Middle East as an example of how deep and complicated our involvement would become. I've said it before and I am saying it again. The US is like that 3 time divorced friend we all have that wants to give everyone else relationship advice. Meanwhile they can't fix anything in their own lives. The US needs to focus on the US for a while. We need to step away from being the world's cop and handing out charity to every nation but our own. Let's fix us first. We have reached a point where citizens of other countries are more important and theur needs put first over Americans. This has to stop. We have our issues to focus on. This would be the sensible and logical approach, so there isn't a snowballs chance in hell DC would ever pursue that avenue.

I can't wait until the F16's show up. Salva Ukraini! Putin will not use nuclear weapons. He can't even protect Moscow or his oil refineries from cheap drones.

Sure they can easily fire NATO weapons but it’s really a dog fighter and I doubt they are going to be slinging amraams with it, it’s really a non factor.
