As someone who has strongly supported assisting Ukraine against Russia, I must now say I think we are pushing our luck way too far. Up until about 3-4 months ago I think we were getting a pretty fantastic ROI on our money (mostly old weapons systems) destroying the Russian war machine. Their ability to conduct ground offensives has been diminished to the point of irrelevancy. Russia now poses basically zero threat to NATO through conventional war. We've exhausted our old stockpiles (many of which we would have had paid to have decommissioned anyway) and are sending new stuff that's costing us real money and pushing Putin into a corner.
I don't know where this ends, but allowing Ukraine to use US weapons against Russia in Russia is a step too far in my opinion. We are walking a very fine line with WWIII right now.

Never should have started down that road but the rewards were too great for you know who.

100% true. One of the biggest shams we have had pulled on us. The Biden administration played on everyone's heart strings and used fear tactics to pull off a plan to Mae themselves some cash. I get a kick out of Mayorkas going in front of the powers that be begging for our Disaster Fund to ve replenished as it's gonna run out soon and with wildfire and tornados coming we are in trouble. The money just might not be there to help when disaster strikes in the US . Meanwhile we send billions on the regular to fund this [censored] war.

Why is 0l' Joe (D) pussyfootin' around???... Clinton (D) persuaded Ukraine to give up their nuclear weapons with the false promise Russia would respect their sovereignty and we'd be there to make sure they did... Just give Ukraine some of our nuclear stockpile (many of which we would have had paid to have decommissioned anyway) and like magic the war is ends... Or we are truly in WWIII... Dan

NATO is currently planning on building 3 new bases in Hungary, Slovakia, and Poland to serve as re-supply points for Weapons to Ukraine. The President of Hungary has said he i not on board and wants no part of it. Turkey has done the same. Outside of the US, Turkey has the largest fighting force; everyone else is 70,000 troops or less. Russa has over 1 million, the US sits at around 450,000. This administration WANTS a war with Russia, He just authorized another 180 million in munitions to Ukraine on top of the money we just sent them.
Putin met with N Korea and basically handcuffed the US. How? He has agreed to provide NK with ICBM technology that is maneuverable and can't be shot down by our current systems. Those ICBM's would be able to reach the US. So now that Russia has a partnership with NK, our sanctions are null and void. They can now trade with Russia whose economy is doing just fine.
This administration has put us in very precarious place. WW III is closer than you think.

Even without our assistance, Russia would be unable to achieve a long term firm grasp on the Ukraine......just as Russia failed to manage Afghanistan in the 80s. Ukraine is one of those scrappy countries that will refuse annexation indefinitely. There might be brief periods where Russia has an illusion of control in the region; but Ukraine is an independent spirit that won't give up.

Our involvement in Ukraine has seriously weakened us at a time when we need to be building up. If Russia had steam rolled Ukraine, there is every reason to believe he would not have stopped there. Then it IS our problem. Hence, helping them resist served two purposes: 1. Forced him to expend vast resources on Ukraine. He's lost hundreds of thousands of men and at least 50% of his mechanized war capability. One of our main global Military competitors is now vastly diminished, this is a good thing. 2. It showed Putin the west would not just roll over and let him do whatever he wanted. The problem is we are now pushing it too far, and a wounded animal pushed into a corner can lash out in very dangerous ways. That's my concern. As usual, the US doesn't seem to have an exit strategy or know when to slow down or stop.

As usual, the US doesn't seem to have an exit strategy or know when to slow down or stop. Did you seriously expect any other outcome if we got involved? Do you really expect government to make sound, logical decisions as to when enough is enough? When has that ever happened in our history regarding a war we have been direct combatants in or assisting in? We simply could look at the Middle East as an example of how deep and complicated our involvement would become. I've said it before and I am saying it again. The US is like that 3 time divorced friend we all have that wants to give everyone else relationship advice. Meanwhile they can't fix anything in their own lives. The US needs to focus on the US for a while. We need to step away from being the world's cop and handing out charity to every nation but our own. Let's fix us first. We have reached a point where citizens of other countries are more important and theur needs put first over Americans. This has to stop. We have our issues to focus on.
