Maybe you should use your legend exemption and go back on tour, show us how it’s done. I’m still trying to qualify myself.

I think the zaldains are pretty strategic with what they’re doing. Trait isn’t stupid, just has opinions like all of us. I haven’t lost any sleep. They still put out a good podcast almost every week

My favorite pro these days is probably Seth Feider. thumb

Doesn’t take much strategy to lure in the gullible.

Have you listened to their show? They aren’t all filled with contentious fbd banter. Steve Kennedy got on awhile ago, showed some of his swimbaits, it was great.

Maybe you should go back where you came from and people here won’t hate you like they do. thumb Do you see people on the forum whining and crying to get “clicks and views”? No, you don’t. Do us all a favor and go away. Take the Zaldains with you.

Well. If I went back to where I came from I would go from MN back to TX. Don’t worry, I’m from the part of TX that has water, you won’t ever run into me.

I think most of the people on here don’t watch YouTube. Which is pretty dumb. Many great fishing content creators on YouTube. Way better than the advertisements you watch on tv. Heck, I don’t even have tv anymore.

Chris and Trait are doing great things for bass fishing

Once and figured out [censored] what they have to say or any of the other ones, I’m not a YouTube goob but good for you if you do. Most of it is “as the reel turns” soap opera drama.

These guys have to realize that it’s OK for people not to care.

Chris said the guy was streaming bass live. Was he trying to fish what the pros were fishing? if so, that’s real lame.

I personally have zero interest being on any lake that has a big tournament going on. Much less arguing with a tournament competitor about a spot. There are so many spots on a lake, and so many lakes, it’s not worth it.

If I didn’t know an event was going on, and if chris stopped on a point I was fishing, I would welcome him in, and either fish a bit also or say good luck, and leave…

If I’m fun fishing I have zero desire to be in the way of someone trying to win money. I also have zero desire to follow them around and watch them.

You basically made my point. Some guys are going to give the pros courtesy because they’re in an Elite tournament. That’s totally OK but pros can’t expect everyone to feel that way. If Chris had been there 1st I can totally see him not liking the local rolling up on him. The comments out of Chris mouth certainly implied he thinks pros should get special treatment on the water. Anyone is entitled to think they do but it’s just as much right for someone to think the opposite. I can see myself conceding to him in that situation but I can also see myself asking him to back off. It totally could depend what my expectations were for that day. What if I was with my son & we hadn’t fished together in six mths. That’s probably going to be a important trip for me that day

I understand.

For me. If I somehow was on the same lake as the elites, and anyone of of them rolled up on me. I would wave, say hello, and let them fish. Pretty much the same way i would behave with anyone, there are plenty of places to fish, I don’t spend my time getting bent out of shape over one spot. If I’m in a boat by myself and another guy is in a boat by himself, odds are there is plenty of water for 2 boats to fish.

I see you ignored my earlier question in response to your statement that you run from crowds and prefer to be by yourself. So, let me try this again...why the F are you still here?

Who are you? Do you run this place? Maybe you should relax and think about why you’re getting so hostile over the internet? Is it really this serious to you?

Was fishing a benefit tournament this weekend. Had a guide (entered in tournament) pull up to another entrant (whom also donated lots of products to be raffled off). Guide proceeded to drift over a flat this guy was fishing and caught a 7 lb fish 20’ away from the gentleman that was there first.

Then later that day 2 other boats pulled up 100 yards away from said guide and he ran them
Off the spot after yelling expletives at them. He even approached one boat began casting weights and lures at the contestants. There were 2 young guys in that boat, called their dad and he was waiting at the launch. Game Wardens were called and the guide was DQ’d from tournament. It’s a shame what people will do in a benefit tournament. I can only imagine how they would act on any other tournament day.

My partner and I were fishing an offshore ledge that dropped from 10’ to 30’. We just pulled up and stopped about 50 yards from the “spot” and began fishing our way towards it.

Then another boat comes screaming in and shuts down right on the juice. He lowers his trolling motor and picks up a rod. I’m staring him down and he asks if I’m in a tournament. When I said yes he said he would
Give way and cranks up his motor right on the juice and plows away. I appreciate him giving way, but I don’t understand why it mattered if I were fishing a tournament or not.

If you can have a casual conversation without yelling, you are too close IMO. Out of respect you should ask permission or find another spot.

Had a boat spot-locked about 75 yards from where I was wanting to start that morning. I just idled by and went about 200 yards away on a completely different flat.

The sad thing is that he actually thought he was in the right. Professional, college, and high school fishing have made it seem like it's ok to roll up on someone like that.

I agree with what you said.

My experience has been that every part of the country is different and every situation is different. Some places the “bubble” is big and other places it’s small.

It’s especially noticeable on steelhead rivers, over in New York and PA guys are willing to wade side by side and fish, over in Wisconsin I would say the bubble is quite large and guys get upset if you get in the same area as them without nicely asking. Just different parts of the country.

What throws me off are the people that come right up on a point you are fishing and there are NO other boats around. There are PLENTY of other spots to fish, and sometimes folks think they need to roll right up on you. I never understand that. Especially if there is no tournaments or anything going on.

It all depends on the situation, and how the interaction goes. I never want to be around anyone, so I go out of my way to find my own water. Though sometimes in a community hole and it’s nice to talk to a friend while fishing.

I have thought about this for a bit, and have stuck with my initial thought that Chris was definitely in the wrong, and all this [censored] could have been easily avoided. People just need to be grown ups. Pull in close to the guy where you can have a man to man conversation and just let the guy know what is going on and ask if he minds if you fish that spot with him. My guess would be that most people would respect that and say sure and appreciate you asking. This accomplishes a couple things one it will probably earn you a fan for life, and two lets you fish the spot. Now if the guy tells you to go pound sand, then it becomes a different matter.
Just my 2 cents worth.
