Looking for the green lights for fishing. I need a bulb for my clamp light and the ones I keep getting aren’t that bright green like I see on other docks. Even the ones I’ve got on Amazon aren’t the right ones. So where can I get them?

In my experience a bright white light attracts more bait fish than a green light. I never have understood the popularity of green iights, because I don't think they are as effective. I have run a white light on one side of my boat, and a green light on the other side. Hands down the white light attracted more bait fish. I realize that is not what you asked, but if attracting fish is your goal you may be better off with a bright white light. Not yellow like high pressure sodium. Hologen White or LED White.

No but the bugs are what attract the baitfish.
I agree on the white light.

Depends on where you fish, fresh or salt water.

Salt water fish are not bug eaters, they eat meat.

Green lights are superior fish attractors.

Bugs are meat. You just don't get as big of bite when you eat a grasshopper instead of a beef steak.

I have had the opposite experience. not being argumentative as the sample of just a few people is very small. White lights indeed attract bugs which will attract small fish. Green lights simulate a plankton bloom. If you look closely around a green light like the one we have on our boat slip there will be a soup of so many tiny little swimming things they are far beyond counting or even estimating. These things are what shad eat. We get huge schools of threadfin that swim in circles around the light. Of course there are crappie, sandies, bass and sometimes cats swimming into them eating.

Hey whatever works for you.

I bought this light for about think 80 bucks .
about a year ago, still going strong 👍
Then I bought about a $25 timer, from Home Depot.
Works great for my 9x20 boat slip 👍

And then I added this LED light, from Home Depot,
Originally overhead, to replace the old halogen lights they had there.
Course I've been using it, for the meantime, or until they get complete marina finished.
Right above the water, and my boat slip

I would much prefer to deal with a few bugs with a white light that attracts more fish, then to be bug free with a green light that doesn't attract as many fish. I can sit in my living room and be bug free. What I have found with lights that are above the water is that bugs stay within a couple of feet of the light. The best fishing is at the edge of where the light shines down on the water. Fishing the edge of the light puts me several feet away from the light and the bugs don't bother me while I am hauling in fish. If the white light is under water then the bugs are a none issue. Underwater white lights are far superior to green lights for attracting fish. Absolutely no comparison. I have done actual comparison of underwater lights and above water lights by fishing them at the same time. In both cases white lights attract more bait fish by a multiple I cannot come close to describing.

I come from the water.
