So, you consider the Ranger he borrowed to be a pos? Seriously?

I really havent seen a giant jump in "boat price"......its all the bs that goes on them. My upgrade on electronics and trolling motor was a little over $20k on my Phoenix.

If anything, alot of boat manufacturers put lower tier electronics and trolling motors on boats as a basic package knowing most buyers will upgrade.

He said it is an 89 model and those had no wood in transom...still a good boat. Biggest concern for me would be engine condition.

Well since that is the most important part I stand by my pos statement, I'm sure the wiring was jacked and there is a 50/50 chance you end up having to get the tool box out everytime you use some old junk like that.

Doesn't fiberglass shrink? Becoming brittle? Being beat against waves since Bon Jovi was the radio?

If they really wanted to "grow the sport" ^^^THIS^^^ but theres no profit margin in it for the manufacturers so it will never happen, they want you to buy big 20-21 footers or junk bass tracker type boats and will keep feeding us that's what you need to be in, not he 18 or 19 foot glass boats.

The SHO is over $20k installed. The trolling motor and graohs puts the cost >$30k….without the boat and trailer. Haha. It is impossible to find a new 18-1/2 with those things. It just is.

Yeah that isn’t happening. Hello 1997 we want our boat prices back. I bought a 1997 Cobra 190D with a 200 for a little under 30K in 1997. Manufacturers can’t build a similar boat and motor for that price today.

I'd have to agree on that old Ranger, its not a POS but more like old and tired. It gets out on the water with regular usage and I'd expect it to start coming unwound all over, everything but the hull. Wouldn't be nothing B.O.A.T. a few times couldn't cure, maybe more. Probably start with a complete rewire and modern motor and go from there.

Sure they can and adjusted for inflation new rigs aren't that far off on pricing from 25 years ago. Problem is people think all the modern amenities we didnt have back then should be included in that price. Frigging pipe dream.

About one of the best deals you are going to find on a boat IMHO.

Yes, that's are really good deal in today's market for a high end boat. $80k still very hard to swallow for your normal hard working individual.

I'm sure that is a great deal for what you are getting, but for most folks $80k on a bass boat is just too much.

How much of this nonsense is due to government regulations when it comes to outboard efficiency? If Yamaha, Merc, etc. could go back to old 2 strokes, how much cheaper would they be?

Don’t forget regulations on VOC’s and the type of resins used in manufacturing,
