I also don’t think the housing market crash was a direct reflection on the economy. We have a flat Out inflation problem… prices are extremely up. The wages are stagnant. Another few years of this economy hobbies will flop.

Poor Randy, does he already have this new boat or did he disclose what brand it was?

I could see the kayak fishing exceeding Something will snap due to the rising property taxes, increased car/house/health insurance & reduction in income tax item deductions. I get it, lots of people are fine, but there has to be lots of people hurting as well. Credit card debt has to be up for lots of people.

It’s getting out of hand. There will be a boat market crash.
People have been saying that on TFF since the market recovered after 2008 crash. ITS... NOT... GOING... TO... HAPPEN We have been hearing this for the past 20 years. The only thing that will change is some will not be buying the 21 ft 250hp glitter rockets like they have in the past 10 years.

I mean no one is going to sell for a loss. Many on this site call that greed though. I don't see prices dropping drastically, I'm sure thewy may come down a little. Don't see finance rates coming down drastically either, even if a conservative gets elected.
Prices have come down already in the used market, Heck i have decided to keep my boat for another year, cannot afford to sell it at a loss. The price i was going to sell it for would have been a good deal 12 months ago, and now it too high to sell. And Nitro is reducing there prices on new boats.

If the manufacturers could figure out how to make an 18.5 footer with a 150HP two 9 inch graphs with spotlock for under $30k I imagine it would sell like hot cakes. At these current boat prices, I plan on repowering my 2003 Skeeter with a new 150 SHO.
If they really wanted to "grow the sport" ^^^THIS^^^ but theres no profit margin in it for the manufacturers so it will never happen, they want you to buy big 20-21 footers or junk bass tracker type boats and will keep feeding us that's what you need to be in, not he 18 or 19 foot glass boats. The SHO is over $20k installed. The trolling motor and graohs puts the cost >$30k….without the boat and trailer. Haha. It is impossible to find a new 18-1/2 with those things. It just is.

I've been watching the market really close lately because by mid August I need to either upgrade my Skeeter from 2012 everything or just change rigs with either a new purchase or newer used rig before HS tournament season gets here. Right now they are most definitely headed down and it seems as time passes they are steadily getting cheaper with better financing as well.

You bring up an interesting point. For guys who bought at peak and financed it they could end up competing with some manufacturers promotion deals on new. They end up way upside down and either don't want to right the check or can't write the check to cover loss. They just keeping running it. That won't help new boat sales either.

Probably not putting a tm/graph package on a boat like he mentions that costs 10k. I think his number is low. 42k would be a more realistic number on a rig like he describes.

with all the high end boats there is for sale nobody wants to sell at a loss but the market has corrected since covid an the folks that really want to sell dont have the money to put with it to make it go away. the days of buying a boat using it for 5 years an selling them for more than you paid for them are over. go to some sites like bbc an see the dates some of those boats were listed for sale some for over a year . the repos are up credit cards are way up an the folks waiting on the interest to come down will be waiting a while. the dealers floor plan interest has nearly doubled an sales are no where closr to where they were 2 years agop.

I've been looking at 3/4 and 1 ton trucks both new and used as well and my local dealers don't appear to be moving those either and they've discounted quiet a bit but the prices are still way higher than before COVID. I figure if they don't come on down those trucks be growing to the ground as well.

I think Randys # is low also, he is going to have a hard time finding what he described in a new boat for 35K

About the only thing in Randy's price range would be a tin rig (Tracker), or Z17 or Z18 Nitro, the 179 TRX Trtion falls into that price range.
