been going to either Mexico or Brtazil with ron speed last 6 years with no problems and great experience each time...
I've been using same outfitter in Argentina each year for 20 years and headed back August 15th....
be very careful with those auction type dove hunts that they sell ....some are good and some are not based on what I've heard....keep in mind,it is going to be expensive to fly anywhere overseas and you want to have a really good experience...
below is link to the outfitter we use to dove hunt in Argentina...also check out Trek safaris for hunting/fishing trips overseas....if Trek uses them, they will will be a good outfitter...

Thanks for sending that. We used Trek for the first trip to Brazil after meeting them at DSC, but now working directly with camp owner. Those "free" dove hunts are hilarious and yes can't be an issue. We specifically booked a DUCK hunt and got a bait and switch to some extent on ours. Having access to hunt White-wing in South Texas I don't see the need to fly 10 hours to hunt dove.

There are a ton of ways to do the trip. Some have nicer accommodations with a large home base ship and some are more rustic. The large ship does NOT have access to what I think are the best waters. Our preference was for fishing with good accommodations and food with a focus on the fishing. This place was NUTS! A/C's worked bad arse. We all had our own room (house boat with a bed, bathroom and small desk). One main dining boat and the whole group is only 6 people. you fish 2 guys to a boat with your guide each day and you determine how long you fish. Our food was great, the guides were awesome and the fishing was something I will never forget. Our group of 4 had 7 fish over 20#. I personally had a 20, 22 and 25# fish. We had countless fish over 15# and I even caught an 11# Butterfly Peacock which I would relate to catching a 14# LMB. most Butterfly are in the 3-4# range but not at this place. We had 4 Butterfly over 9# including my 10 and 11#. Average was about 60 fish per day per boat.

There's several options down there but I can't recommend the one I went with enough. I will tell you the travel can be a bear because unless you fly private directly to Manaus you have to fly all the way down to Sao Paolo then 4 hours back to Manaus to overnight there before your trip to the jungle the next day. We flew home private after a rough travel down there and are flying private for the entire trip next time.

Reading the details on the link you posted it talked alot about fly-fishing, is that what your group did?

no one we were with fly fished. They told us the only way to catch big fish on flies was to wait and cast when one of them would miss the top waters. We also mever threw a chopper at all and caught 95% of our fish on a Jumping minnow with the balance including my 25# on jig.
