Now us poor average non dealer types will probably pay more than 25K for a M16A2...and that's probably on the low end nowadays.

yes

Just gotta find a Class 3 who is giving up his SOT and selling off his post-86 machine guns. And yes, these are very useful as sales samples for local LE

Ammo bill can sky rocket with one fun filled range trip. Could be a character builder though in that it can help you strengthen your will power.

Well unclezeek one thing I did learn while being in the class 3 world about LE's is that they like the latest "stuff"...:) Get a dealer sample of the new Sig that the military is switching too...bet the pd's would like those...:) Used to be H&K MP5's were the hot item. Don't know if they still are...probably not since they are "old" now but they were, and undoubtedly still are, a very good weapon to shoot. Now just convince your local PD to buy a Dillion gatling gun....:)

Well, I can't afford the Sig Spear yet ... heh, I can't even afford the semi-auto SBR version right now. Those two M16's cost me less than $900 apiece (including the cost of the AR's I bought from THF/TFF classified for uppers). If/when I get any LE orders, I can build them for a bit less than that, but I'll have to pay ITAR fees then, so I don't want to make any of my own unless I'm certain of sales.

Have a couple of HK autosear trigger groups on the way as well so I can set up MP5 or other HK variants.

I do know the LE's around here favor the short barrel M16 variants. 11.5 inch or so....easier to maneuver in buildings and such. Only seen a couple of HK MP5's here. Probably more but the trend is to the short barrel M16 style rifles it seems. I always preferred the HK MP5 as it was accurate and easy to control. And the short barreled rifles are LOUD when you shoot them...:) A suppressed MP5 would be my ideal choice. I think they made one called the MP5SD that had an integral suppressor. No need to advertise exactly where you are when "hunting" the bad guys...:)

Not to worry, when, not if the fight starts, there will be some battle field pickups readily available.
