[quote=Tx Tree Grower] I'm not sure if there is a rule against immediate family members of BASS anglers bashing the organization. If not, it wouldn't surprise me if there is one next year.
If so, this would be the lowest of low's as far as I'm concerned. Is BASS going to sue for slander and defamation?
I'm all for people speaking their mind and I'm not for BASS punishing Chris at all. However, tournament organizations are NOTORIOUS for finding creative ways of shutting down people who make negative public comments (see Zack Birge about this). This holds true for tournament organizations from the local Wednesday nighter all the way up to BASS and MLF. I want to be clear. I'm not saying BASS should create this rule. Just saying it wouldn't surprise me. I understand you clearly. When things like that occur, the very same principals that this country was founded upon are blatantly violated. In that case, and with others, I cant help but think of likes of Facebook, CNN, NYT and YouTube.

If what Trait posted is actually true then it does seem really sketchy. If I was competing in that league I would be concerned. Maybe it's totally normal like Tx Tree said. A lot of these guys have buddies all over the US...are they doing the same thing. Just get rid of the no info and go fishing. I didn't say it was totally normal, and I have no problem with BASS questioning him about it. What I am saying is it proves nothing, and if this is the bar for suspicion then they better buy the polygraph guy some red bulls because he is gonna be busy. Better polygraph anyone who knows anyone in that tournament, and you better do it for every tournament on every lake. Also how far back are we gonna go? If someone has a buddy that fished a tournament there two weeks ago is that suspicious? What about 3 weeks ago? What about a month? How far back are we gonna go? Personally, I would not drag someone's name through the mud on social media for this. Would I consider talking to the tournament director about it? Maybe. But hey, that's just me and I'm not after clicks or trying to promote a podcast. Again, when there's some real proof of cheating....lets see that. Then we can start dragging names through the mud.

I looked up the kid's Illinois tournament partner. He fished the entire Tennessee River Team Trail's season. 5 events. Assuming she is talking about the guy who McKinney has the most pictures with on Facebook from local-ish stuff. On the surface, doesn't seem appear to be any foul play. Just a guy fishing a tournament trail that McKinney happens to have fished with before that happened to be on the same lake they are going to this week. Which I am sure pretty much every elite guy can say about every lake they go to. They know someone who has fished a derby there recently. This is stupid.
Adding this for good measure, I like Zaldain. Seems like a good dude. But my god, he needs to get some scene control. I feel bad for him every time something like this gets posted. Or when we have to hear about "the split" on every single podcast and the subsequent rant that comes with it. Look, we get it. The split sucked, BD is a douche, yada yada. Let's move on. It was 5 years ago.

She’s been abrasive but she’s been right about everything she has posted so far. She made a wild insinuation with zero proof of ill intent. She isn’t right, she’s just a loud mouth.

Still curious who the winner of the 2019 Elite event Chris finished 2nd to was that a rookie allegedly has video evidence that the winner of said event cheated. That was said that on one of their pod casts. If that is true and was covered up, that is a huge issue for sure.
As for info, info is out there and humans communicate with one another. Being as most anglers at the level can catch them when they find them, an info rule is crucial. Not sure it is realistic to completely stop all info.

Not sure it is realistic to completely stop all info. BASS and FLW/MLF have covered up cheating and cheaters for many years. With social media it’s getting harder for them to just sweep it under the rug

You read that “word” on the internet right? That’s 100% the extent of your knowledge about the guy right?

Trait was a loser on tour. 59 Tournaments. 2 checks. Total of $2940. One top 30 for $2190. One big bass for $750. That’s incredibly weak. Top level equipment. Lots of support. She couldn’t get it done.
Losers complain about others getting some advantage or cheating. It’s what those who can’t catch them do.
If you are going publicly question a man’s integrity you better have some strong evidence. Go to BASS and talk with them. They always seem to be strong on the integrity of their tournaments. They do an awesome job handling situations.

What are your stats? Just curious. Wright & McGill is “top level” equipment? Not that it really matters

I am sure a few have with a similar number of tournaments. She talks way above her ability. It’s not a good rule. It’s difficult at best to enforce. You want rules to be enforceable. Let them get info from any source. There is such a thing as bad info. Best info they get is from other competitors.
