Myself and buddy Steve fished a local spot this past week and the bite was very good. We caught a lot of Bluegill, Redbreast, and a few Hybrid Sunfish. I also hooked in a very nice bass which was a drag puller for sure. Fought the fish for few minutes and was able to finally catch it. The fish was 22" in length and we guessed the weight between 5 to 7 pounds. The bass was healthy and was released to fight again. Steve also hooked a big bass but it spit the hook after a short fight. Most of the Bluegill were released and Steve kept some for the frying pan. A records application was completed for a Water Body Catch & Release Record for the bass, and was sent to the Texas Parks & Wildlife for their review. Fish were caught on worms using a bottom technique. Fish were holding by grass beds. Spending a morning catching Large Mouth Bass and Bluegill. It just don't get any better.

I did not see your fly but the fish told me it was you that almost caught him. The word is out with all of the other fish about you!

Side Note: I have caught three Redbreast there this year all in the 10" range.

Side Note: I have not fished that spot this year but plan on fishing it soon using my flyrod.

Thanks Curtis for the reply. I have caught several nice bass this year over 21 inches and have had a couple spit out the hook after a short fight. Catching the bass on several water bodies I have been fishing this year. They are my bonus fish. As for the spot now is the time to bring out your fly rod. The fish are chasing minnows and dragon flies along the shore line during the morning and early evenings.
