Anyone have any experience with them? I would like one to take camping on short trips with us. We have two hard kayaks but they are a pain for short camping trips. I have been looking at the NRS fishing kayaks, they are pricy. That company makes raffs for white water trips down the Colorado river, so they should have experience building tough inflatable kayaks. Thanks for the feedback.

I've looked at that one also. It's about the same price has the NRS fishing kayaks, but doesn't have as many features.

No. 1 rule for inflatables: NO TREBLE HOOKS! Had inflatable dinghies in the Caribbean for 25 years, but now my yak is plastic, and my skiff is aluminum. I can see where a blow-up kayak would be good for RV touring. IslandJim

Thanks Jim. I hardly ever use them anymore. Always concerned about the fish jumping and hooking myself with it.

As another option, have you seen those foldable kayaks? Seem light weight and possibly more rigid.

I really would be nervous

A few years ago my wife and I were contemplating an RV. I looked into both inflatables and foldables.

I have not been in either, but generally speaking, the foldables made me more nervous than a quality inflatable... however, they were by far the lightest, less expensive, packed up the smallest and some were highly reviewed.

I've already decided it's going to be a higher end one. The mid and lower end one's don't have foot pegs. I those are one of the must haves for fishing.

I have the most rugged Sea Eagle rated for class 4 rapids. Dragged it over countless rocks and rip rap. Fished big swimbaits with the sharpest big trebles made without concern.

Built like tanks…they will catch wind…which is why i recommend the one in the video with the full length keel.

I have a couple of SUP boards that I have converted into inflatable kayaks (folding chairs, anchor trolley, rod holders etc). I use them in the saltwater back lakes poling around looking for redfish. They work well in wind under about 8 mph. Anything over 10 (which is really rare down there) is tough and 15 is disastrous. The wind likes to make them spin in a hurry. The compressed air keeps them on top of the water therefore acting just like a balloon. The boat style that is longer will help some but you should expect some of these issues in most inflatable fishing vessels.

I much prefer a pedal drive over paddling-it goes faster with less fatigue. That plus the wind doesn't push it
around as much. Whatever you decide on see if they won't let you take it out to see if it meets your needs before
buying it.
