March 1991. Got a DUI, blew a .25. Knew I was headed down the wrong path. Quit cold turkey and haven’t had a drink since.
I was a lucky one in that I never got hurt or hurt anyone.

I was a professional drinker.

I only drink a few times a year now, mainly when I go camping and fishing with my buddies. Years ago? I really enjoyed getting drunk and did it frequently.

I guess the last time I got really torn down was 2019, sitting around a campfire drinking Silver Bullets in 16 oz aluminum bottles. It was December and chilly, which was great because the beer stayed cold. Not that it sat there long enough to get hot, mind you.

Good times.

I'm 59, and I've never been drunk.
I never cared for alcohol or possibly humiliating myself.

Driving drunk is NO laughing matter or good party story.

Almost drank myself to death. Ended up in ICU and a bunch of other boring details,

By some of the threads here, the question should be when was Last time you were sober.

Promoted to Tech Sargent while stationed in Germany. Everyone at the club was buying me bottles of Grolsch. Next thing I know I was waking up on the floor of my bathroom. Wife said I walked into the house, went straight into the bathroom and laid down on the rug in front of the tub. Didn't know how I got home (2 miles from the club) or where my car was. Nobody I was with at the club remembers seeing me leave.

2010, the day my wife told me she was pregnant. I got tore down to the ground fully knowing that was going to be the last time and did so with her blessing. My head still hurts...

Probably in 1984, the year I gave it up. Living in OKC, went to happy hour with some folks from work, and woke up early morning parked at home with no memory of how or when I got there.

I’m sure it was at a work meeting, after dinner shenanigans, my buddies got me out of the hotel bar before I did or said something bad

Haven’t had a drink since 2006. Haven’t missed it either.

pretty sure I haven't found the last time. I'm a slow learner.

Been several years now….still partake, just no more than a couple or three.

enjoy a few beers daily. I live in a small town and when i get off work i enjoy stopping by and gossiping with the olds and other buddies. Prolly 20 of us every day. I have a deal with the wife. Dinner is at 7:30. No matter whos cooking. Dinner is at 7:30. If i'm cooking gotta get home early, if shes cooking i'll usually drink and extra cold one.

I drink quite frequently, but couldn’t tell you the last time I was drunk.

September, 1987. Not a drop of alcohol since. Thank you Lord.

I have a couple a month nowadays but last time I got drunk was probably Christmas day at my dad's.

Drunk? Probably my last year of college. If I learned anything in college, I learned nothing good comes from getting drunk in front of friends, colleagues, or family.

You'd have to define drunk. Too much to drive? Last weekend. Falling down drunk? Goodness, that's been many years. Drunkest I've ever been? Probably Daytona beach April of 2004. Did a century club at the hotel then hit the town and got after it. I'd say I drink to the point of a hangover maybe 3 times a year. Generally, I keep it pretty well controlled.

Got drunk a couple nights ago and then smashed for a couple hours. Woke up yesterday with a bad back and can barely walk. It was worth it.

2-8-1979....was one of the lucky ones,drank for years then was diagnosed as chronic alcoholic but man upstairs helped me get off that elevator before it got to bottom floor.....
nothing against drinking,wish i still could...nothing better than a cigarrette and cold beer....but it ain't for everybody...

A couple of decades ago. I got us thrown out of a bar for dancing on a table. I remember walking across a pool when I lost my concentration and fell in on my 3rd step. Woke up in an empty bathtub. I have toned it down since then.

1994 not a drop since. From 14 to 24 I drank enough alcohol in those 10 years to last me 10 lifetimes. It is only by the grace of God that i was able to stop from one day to the next . 30 years sober now

Can’t remember but it’s been a long time. These days I will have a drink…by that I mean one at a time. Last night had a glass of Cab then an even smaller glass. That is a big night of drinking for me these days. IMO not much is dumber than drinking to the point of having to deal with a hangover or doing something stupid while drunk.

Tuesday. Cracked a fresh bottle of Wild Turkey 101 at sunrise. Worked through that, and at some point, a bottle of Bear Fight got opened, but it got broken, somehow. Threw a chair through the front window of the Waffle House there by 377 and 114. I had a ton of little glass cuts all over me on Wednesday from that. We stole a mail truck and tried to make it over to 35W, but we ran it off the road kind of near Denton Creek, down into the ditch, so we had to leave it. They obviously found it because my buddy went to check on it yesterday and it was gone. Just a bunch of ruts in the mud where it had been towed out. I also lost my freakin' pistol that night, too. That sucked. Maybe I sold it - I don't remember.

I've woke up in the wrong bed, in the wrong house, in the wrong neighborhood, that was in the wrong county, that was in the wrong state. drove two hours to figure out I was in Louisiana.

9/22/1996: Spent the night in jail on my 22nd birthday with a DWI. Haven't had a drop since.

I never enjoyed alcohol... got blasted maybe 3 or 4 times in my life.. once during summer in high school while camping out, no damage.. a couple of times in college, no damage other than to brain cells... each time with different types of alcohol.. last time was in 1988 at a club in south Florida and the only time I was driving. Knew I was drunk, knew cops were in parking lot watching as it was the only club in area that stayed open until 3 a.m. at that time. Planned my escape while throwing up in restroom.
Left a few minutes before closing time. Had to walk right past cops from different parts of Broward County that were massed in the huge parking lot.

Make it to my car, pull out, eyes in rear view mirror as I am checking to make sure no one is following... I am feeling better as I am a hundred yards from club and about to turn south on to US 1 for 10 minute drive from Pompano to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. As I take one last look in mirror, I hit new median that has just been installed and almost go airborne.. almost get stuck on median.. two front hub caps fly off as I come back down almost high centering before getting back off it and continuing onward.

Could not believe no one saw me and no traffic ahead... pull over on down the road as I have one flat tire and another going down fast. Only another mile to go and two completely flat tires on front... still no traffic.. make a left off US 1 to cross bridge to A1A... metal grate bridge, can see reflection of sparks in water as I am driving on the rims. Make it to my apartment on A1A... home sweet home.. Woke up around noon and had three flat tires, the two on front I had put on the previous day were brand new and in shreds. Never have had more than two beers in a row since.

Seems like it was last October. Warm day. I had a big pinoak down so had a friend come over with his trailer. I drug it out in the open with the tractor and we cut it down and split it, loading the trailer as we went. Finishes about 1130, walked up to the house, cracked the seal on a new bottle of Four Roses. Started with a couple of glasses over ice then a few shots. Guess it was too early to start such an endeavor but I got schnockered sitting on the back deck. I remember the UPS guy driving up and looking kinda funny at me.

Buddy left, I went in and puked a couple of times and then laid down and kinda slept it off. It was one of those times when operating any kind of equipment was ill-advised. Hadn't been like that in a couple of decades prior to that.

What kinda drunk?

Last night,

Try Naltrexone. Take one pill every morning. Let's say you crack open a cold one at 6pm that day. By the time you take the last sip of your favorite drink will taste horrible and be about as appealing as hotdog water. I've struggled to stay sober, but man this sure helps me personally. I can have (a) drink, never been able to do that before.

March 27th . 1993. Haven't missed it at all, to each their own.

It may or may not have been at LOP.

I can't drink like I did for years, but not because I don't want to sometimes. My last bad drunk ended up in the hospital with my heart out of rhythm. They gave me an IV that had me back in rhythm within minutes. I haven't had more than a couple of beers on any occasion since then, but ended up in the ER twice anyway. The last time they had to shock me into rhythm. A year and a half ago I had a flutter ablation to fix the endless loop that would get going in one chamber. My cardiologist told me I am cured, and I haven't had an irregular heartbeat since. He told me I can drink if I want, that the condition is fixed more or less permanently. I am sure he is an outstanding surgeon and knows what he is talking about, but I'm still afraid to cut loose and test it.

I'm not one of those people who feels sorry or has regrets about my years of drinking. I had a great time, a lot of fun, and my friends and I have hilarious stories that are retold around a campfire. No one got hurt, no one died, and no one got arrested. I wish I could do it all over again.

I'm sure. If Stealer fans can handle the krap they are then I, as a Cowboy fan, don't need to get sloober-knockered in a Cowboy game.

In my circle, a bunch has been hurt, a couple died, and several have been arrested, and that’s just the wife’s family…. I try to leave early now before things start getting sporty.

The last time I had a drink was Sept. 27th 1970. My daughter was born Sept 28th 1970 and I figured she would need a sober Father because I had seen some kids that had alcoholic parents and I knew I didn’t want that

I cannot really pinpoint a time but best guess...maybe 35+ years ago.......

Been a long while since I was seriously drunk. This thread would be more interesting if the question had been “tell us about the drunkest you’ve been”.

I never had hangovers and never missed going in to work because I got drunk the night before. I figured if I drank too much feeling tired at work was the price I had to pay for a good time. My dad told me when I was 18 that men in my family didn't become alcoholics because we could drink when we wanted but decide at any time to stop. That was true for me.

There's still little I enjoy more than getting a good beer buzz and staring into a campfire after a day on the lake.

Maybe the night the American Olympic team beat the Soviets at the Lake Placid Olympics. I was a freshman in college and two girls I knew wanted to "learn how to drink". They didn't like anything they made and handed it to me to finish. I ended up sitting at the drain on a bathroom floor heaving. They walked to my dorm with me and I kept trying to get them to come up to my room. I'm sure I was quite a catch at that moment.

On the other hand, maybe that's not it because I remember that night.

Back when I was around 35 that was almost 40 years ago. I never drank to get drunk.

Our sales team in DFW was kicking [censored] on the entire country and the top three of us got called up to Maryland, just outside of DC to help educate the rest of the company on how we were doing it. If the average for a team was doing 15 units a week, our team was doing at least 75 big ticket projects or more. We flew in on a Friday night around 9, got our room keys and headed to the bar. We immediately got surrounded by teams members from across the country to get some pre-meeting info. Long story short they bought the three of us shots until the bar closed at 2am. The meeting was to be at 8 that morning. At 2:15 (am) me and my two buddies were all out of our minds drunk and out in the lobby tossing quarters against a wall for $100 a throw when the president of the company walks by and sees us. He tells us to get to bed, but then asks who's winning. At that time I was, so he says...I'm in. I throw one about a 1/4 inch from the wall. He throws one 1/8th. I say, double or nothing...he says you're on! I throw one right on the wall and he throws what looks to be a leaner on the wall. I stumble over to look and sure enough...a stinking leaner. I was P.O.'d and without thinking looked up and said, you "corksucker" ( of course using the acual word). The three of them stood there for a milisecond stunned and I could see he was pizzed off and my two buddies horrified. So immediately I said, "but that's MISTER Corksucker to you!" He was trying not to laugh but couldn't help himself and just told us to get to our rooms.

Living with an alcoholic is a nightmare, traveling with one is worse.

IDK, I had a buddy tell me about how much fun he'd have everytime his GF passed out. Guarantee the first thing was the lights were turned on. She had a rockin bod too. She was bat^%$# crazy though.

Last time I did, was on cinnamon moonshine. Talk about a night I don't remember. AHAHHAHAHA

I'm a slacker now.

Late March 2023 was my last drink. I took a shot with my buddy Dallas Moore to celebrate his new album and the launch of WSKY. I never was a huge drinker. It was planned to quit. I just got super busy. Didn't have time to drink. As time passed the desire faded. I just decided I was good not drinking at all. I still have a liquor cabinet with several bottles of various whiskey. Just don't care about drinking it.

9/28/04 for me. I had previously decided I was "cured" after 10 years clean.
Otherwise I would have saved me and everyone in my circle including my wife and kids, friends, co-workers,...a whole bunch of hell and screwups.. It's actually pretty amazing I lived through all that since I was plumb off the chain. It sure was fun for while though.

Some of us just take longer before it finely soaks in. I thank God for that every day. And my very wise Ft. Worth probation officer RIP. He was one very wise man and I give him full credit for telling me what my future was likely to hold in a way I understood. But God was the actual real solution and deserves full credit for turning my life around. It's nothing short of a miriacle. A lot of people can get falling down drunk and still not have the problem. I wish I was like that, but I'm just not.
