Ummmm, if you’re wanting a “congratulations”, then congratulations I suppose. Seems awfully weird to make a post that you bought an expensive rod; but After all his threads about it I think it's nice we got some closure on the matter.

I bought an 852s and I think the next one maybe 854C. I haven't up to this point been an Abu Garcia fan, but I found a really good deal on a Zenon spinning reel that only weighs 5.3 ounces. I couldn't pass under the idea of a setup weighing in at less than 9 ounces. The reel doesn't come until next week and I can't hardly wait to test it out. I feel like a little kid waiting for Christmas. Are you suggesting that you paid that much for a spinning rod.....

He is probably headed up to Minnesnowta for the walleye opener this weekend. They can be light biters, so the sensitivity provided by the NRX+ can be be beneficial for most techniques. They fight like a wet sock, but nothing better comes off a skillet See you on the water iBock congrats on the new rod

I have several G Loomis rods..... no NRX, but I have GLX and they are nice no doubt, but I find myself liking an $80 Falcon EVO from walmart ..... probably the best rod for the money if you are a broke tightwad like me!

Well, the search has ended. After years of searching for a rod better than an NRX+, I finally gave up. The NRX+ is just the best rod on the market. I am writing to all those like me who might want something different, or think they can save money and find the equivalent for cheaper. I preface this by stating I have not tried every rod on the market nor am I an expert, but I have fished a lot of nice rods and none of them have the total package the NRX+ offers.
These are the high-end rods I have fished in the last 2 years are as follows. Kistler Zbone, Dobyns Xtasy, Shimano Poison Adrena, Shimano Expride, Megabass Destroyer, Diawa Steez, G loomis Conquest, Power Tackle now Reneau Tackle. All these are phenomenal rods, and from what I have seen are great companies with great products but IMO the G Loomis NRX+ is just something special.
Look is the NRX+ worth the money? I don't know...? 600 dollars for a rod I admit seems kind of ridiculous. Especially since I am just going to throw the fish right back in the water anyway. Can I catch as many fish on a 100 rod...? probably but if you are a gear enthusiast like me I truly believe it can't be beat.
From the tapers to the truly electric sensitivity to the awesome warranty, I don't think you can find a better rod on the planet. If you want the best and have the money blow go get yourself and NRX+ Welcome to the club. Now go,get a part time job they are like lays. Just can’t eat one

At that price just think of how much space you will now have on your front deck.

I bought high end rods in the 80's and still have most of them and if I hadn't stepped on my favorite one I'd still have it today, the only one I'm missing. Back in those days high end was anywhere from $70 to a little over $120, if you figure for inflation those rods would probably cost more than these NRX rods. People thought I was nuts spending that kind of money. I was single, making good money, and had my dad sponsoring me too so I could afford them. I'm a firm believer in getting the best gear for sure. I bought the best reels I could get to go on those rods and still have those as well and they all function fine and I still use some of those too. I've swapped a few of those for newer low profile reels just for comfort.
