I pretty much do all of the cooking. She is the desert maker for most of the sweet things, a few of them I make. Her mother didn't teach her to cook and she likes to leave out most of the spices that a meal recipe calls for. The only thing she puts salt on is an apple and watermelon.
We are both retired, but she still substitute teaches for our fun and traveling money. I like the arrangement.

Steve, you have been blessed with perspective. Most men don't have the strength to push forward the way you have. And now you are sharing that blessing with us here, and no doubt with each and every person you see every day.

I think I can speak for everyone here... we are sorry for what you have suffered, yet we are grateful for what you can now share with us. Rock on brother!

Thank you Coff-

I enjoy cooking and do all of it at our house. And, I hate to bake so she does all the cakes, pies, cookies, etc.

This poll could have been shortened to who wears the britches.

I do all of the cooking, grilling, and smoking. I'm retired and she's still working full time. Bummer for her!!

Your lovely wife told me that on your wedding night you told her to put on your britches and when they didn't fit you told her "that's right, I wear the britches in this marriage".
She then told me that she had you try on her pants and when you told her that you couldn't get into them, she said, " you keep that attitude and that would be the last time she would let you try".

Never let a woman know you can cook.

The last fight between an ex girlfriend and a new one. Exchanging insults of the like, "He cooked for me and I already ate his ribs".

Women can be incredibly cruel to each other.

“I’m Single and have learned to like my cooking.” Lol. When I was married, I did most of the cooking because she was a horrible cook besides a few things. She wouldn’t eat bone in chicken, should have been a red flag grin

My great aunt taught me how to cook when I was 10 and I've been cooking since. I am a much better cook than most and people often ask me to cook meals for them. Cooking is a skill that has been lost over the years, much like common sense has disappeared from society.
