I got to see a few before they made it big Cody Johnson, Koe Wetzel, Rodney Carrington.
I love small venues.
Who have yall seen before they hit the big time ?

REM playing frat parties in Athens, b52s as well. I didn’t necessarily seek the bands out as much as just going where the wimmins were

Sam Kinnison. I was working at the comedy store on westwood blvd at the time. A lot of comedians would try out material at that location before going to the Sunset Blvd location. Steve Martin came in (of course he had already made it big) and Sandra Bernhard came in....bless her heart she is just not attractive at all.....
The Nixons (maybe not the big time you are talking about but big enough). Zac is a fraternity brother and I saw them play in clubs all over OKC and Norman from 1989 to 1992, guessing well over 100 times.

We went to see Steve Werner @ Tarleton State back in the day (around 1990). He is one of my favorite all time singers/artists. A person named Garth Brooks was opening for him. Never heard who he was at that point in time. About 2 months later I was driving to wash our cars like I did every Sunday a.m. and the song Garth sang at the concert played on the radio. It was "The dance". I really liked his music for 3-4 years and then he went off of the edge. I turn the radio channel every time one of his songs come on now. I still love Steve Werner though.

Ron White MC'd a small comedy club in Arlington off of 303 and 360 probably around 1986 or '86ish. Bill Engvall MC'd the Comedy Corner at Greenville and Park (??) sometime around 1982 or 83. Met both of them but never dreamed they'd be as big, especially Ron, as they ended up being.
