I lived in Longview in the early 80’s for a few years. The Reo Palm Isle was the place to be. Great entertainers. There was a bar in Longview called The Pig Trail. The name says it all.

That place was something else back in the day. Famous maybe, infamous for sure......

It was mentioned earlier but being the biggest club ever deserved a 2nd mention. None of the others ever had a movie based on and filmed on site.

11 street Bar is pretty neat place.

Six Mile Inn east of Conroe back in the day. If you want to take out some aggression you could get in a fight at the drop of a hat. Sheriff just came and broke it up and sent people on their way most of the time.

Issue was if you didn’t want to get in a fight. You would get some of “what you looking at….”

Longhorn Ballrom just down the road a bit. Owned at one time by Pat Butler who was in Willie Nelson’s band. Willie played there a few times.

Painful morning coming back from Ma Crosby's. But I blame the Up and Down Club and the Corona Club for most of it.

Heading to the Stampede in Big Spring this Saturday to hear Jody Nix and the Texas Cowboys. The Stampede has been owned by the Nix family for 70 years!.
