I worked in Afghanistan and Iraq for about four years altogether. I have seen cobras and camel spiders. We were cleaning up some pallets and boards behind our shop, and we came across a ‘Black Death’ scorpion. It was a full-grown one, and it was about 4 inches long, laying just like the one pictured.
I read about them. They are pretty mean creatures!

I just bought a new house in La Grange, TX and moved earlier this summer. The house had been empty for 18months before we bought it. We closed on the house in April, moved in June... Since closing we have killed 47 scorpions inside the house. Not to mention the ones we have also killed outside. Still averaging 1 - 2 per week. My oldest son especially has gotten so used to them, he just kills them and throws them out. Never even says a word about it. So far, no stings, though there have been 4 close calls. I have sprayed 4 times, had it professionally sprayed once. God help us.

Killed two this week in the house, we live on the lake and they do to. I spray every 6 months but we still get them some times...
See you on the lake and have a great day!

Been stung once, was enough! Very painful. What would you equate it to ? Like wasp or a bee?

It stung me on the big toe and then stung me on the pinky toe before I could untie the shoe and kick it off. Pain is 3× red wasp. Sting feels like an electric shock crossed with someone putting out a cigarette on you. Intense pain instantly lasting 1.5 hours then slowly subsiding next 4 hours
