Once you get the start-up completed and chemicals are good take a look at using a Pool RX.

Come next March when those trees start crapping in the pool every day he'll be asking for chainsaw recommendations.

I had a pool in East Texas surrounded by oaks that did just that. The closest limbs on the closest tree here is 10 ft away. I'm not averse to cutting it down, but I'll wait and see for now. In fact, I offered to do just that, but the contractor said I was good. I trimmed it way back and thinned it out. Plus the dominant breeze from the bay pushes them away. We'll see.
