If you are a fountain of negativity, then the results on the golf course/basketball court/baseball diamond of life aren't as good.

I wish you best of luck brother!

I prefer to use negative reinforcement on my kids and my animals

I get much quicker results

Negative reinforcement is effective if used judiciously in moderation.
Constant negative reinforcement results in rebellion.
Gotta use the carrot every now and then.....again in moderation or there will be spoiled entitlement.

But, it'll bounce back.

Think of all the automatically reinvested dividends that have you currently buying back on the cheap as you smile and sleep like a baby.

I am just down what I gained at the end of March. Sold a fair amount of NVDA at peak so sitting on some cash. Dumped TSLA months ago and glad I did.

At what age does one not become a long-term investor or risk taker in the stock market?..I think I am there, and I may take my $ in stocks and put in safe places. I don't think at my age 65 that I want a big downturn and then look have to risk a long-term recovery that may not happen in my lifetime. I am already quite diversified, but thinking anything in stocks is not in my best interest....anybody else thinking along these lines ?

The market is realizing interest rates aren’t going down anytime soon.

It goes up more than it goes down, like it has from the beginning of time…

Down 6% from the all time high. Sucks but not the end of the world.

I think you still need significant equity exposure at 65. Heck, you might last another 30+ years! I am 66 and have roughly 75% of financial assets in equities (down from 85% five years ago).
