I think we can look at Rick Clunn today and see he rarely makes it in the top 50 for a tourenment. But in his day, he would take you to the outhouse and put a whipping on you.
Larry Nixon, he just left tournament fishing but in his day, you better beleive he brought in some large bag full of bass. Give him a plastic worm and he would out fish you any day.
David Fritts, there has not been a better crankbait angler than him. He taught the world how to fish a crankbait, but he was a bottom dweller in the past years.
Look at the GOAT, KVD, he really wasn't even in contention for years, but you better know back in his day, he was in the top five every tournament by out casting all the other anglers by 1,000 cast per day.


Randy competed against everyone one of those guys and still held his own. Randy was no slough out on the water guys.

He depends on YT and those clicks for part of his yearly pay. He gets clicks with his FFS stuff. And if one has followed him for a while, they can see he has built quite the anti-FFS cult following. Randy is 62, a decent tournament fisherman but is past his tournament prime. He wants the playing field to come back to him. And he has young kids so he will be posting his stuff for years to come if people want to hear it. I just wonder when it all will get old?

I believe that all this FFS bashing is wearing thin on everyone.
If my gut reaction is correct, you may see Humminbird come out at I-Cast or soon afterwards a Mega 360 live sonar which would blow the standard FFS away.
That will change the playing table and Randy will explode of that for awhile until something better comes out and it will, always has and always will.
