Hey MLF fan, how many TW circuit guys get the chance to join the BPT next year? I’m guessing zero, but honestly I’m just a fan from a distance, it doesn’t bother me that no one can move up annually. Requalification and Advancement to the Bass Pro Tour: At the end of the 2024 season, the top five (5) pros based on Angler of the Year rank qualify for the Bass Pro Tour. at least they aren’t screwing those guys again.

When I talked with and BPT angler he told me that he does not know if he will stay with them if he misses the top 50 this year.

50 is way too small... It's just a good 'ol boys club with few rotating at the bottom... Dan

They need to turn this around like the WWE. They had the CEO everyone hated and caused drama. drama sells. MLF needs to use this as a opportunity, BD can be the bad CEO, Watson can be the guy the CEO does not like and the underdog. Drama! Has more TV time implications.

I think it's the number of changes in such a short time period that has caused a lot of the uncertainty from fans. All organizations go through changes but it seems BPT has went through a lot. Also in it's short history those changes have hurt them from building a consistency needed to establish their brand. Whether fair or not I don't think a lot of prospectslive fans are gonna give them a fair chance with Duckett running the show. I can't help but wonder if someone else being the face of the organization publicly could help.

Quick question and I don’t what I’m missing. Less competitors means less entry fees for the BPT and less sponsorship dollars. How does cutting back save them money? I’m sure this was covered a few months back, but I don’t remember it.

... Which it always has and will, BASS has been thru a ton of changes of the years. Every organizations goes through changes... It's how those "changes" are presented and implemented by the person at the top that makes them successful, or a failure. Right now, and since the split, BASS management has been running rings around BD and the MLF staff. And with all the cuts at MFL (both staff and anglers) it appears that won't be changing anytime soon... Dan

I might be wrong but I think BD mentioned in an interview that less anglers to focus on would give more individual coverage per angler and their sponsors. I think this off season will be interesting regarding changes, announcements and such from both leagues.

Great points Mark, like you said fair or not, they could definitely use a new front man, someone younger IMO.
