Welp if you listen to multiple podcasts of guys who are actually friends with, and talk to those guys over there, aside from about 12 of them, the rest are miserable and regret their decisions. That tells me enough to base my opinion. Their opinions would be different if it had worked out, such is life when you take a new job. None of that means they were hoodwinked or convinced to leave under nefarious intentions- it simply hasn’t worked out as they had hoped. The narrative of the boogeyman has been overblown.

Name which BPT anglers have won several million dollars during the BPT existence. You can look it up via angler profiles on the MLF site. We'll wait for that list.... :roflmao
He said winnings and sponsorship dollars. Wheeler and Connell are both approaching $2million in MLF and BPT winnings, alone. Add in sponsorship $ over that time and they're both in the $3 million range.
I'm sure little Alton, Thrift and a few more have won a pile but I'm not adding it up. I did add up Wheeler and Connell's. Jacob was ~$1.6 and Connell was ~1.7 before his most recent Redcrest win.
But yeah, 80 anglers was a stretch. Fouz

But yeah, 80 anglers was a stretch. Fouz One thing is certain,no matter where those guys you mentioned fish they are gonna win a lot. I think each of them could qualify through the Opens in first try too. Me personally I want two pro leagues as I think one pushes the other to be better etc. I am a fan of most anglers over there and do not want it to fold. I will however say that most anyone that is not biased would admit that it's been a chitshow in some regards and often BD seems to be in the middle if it so he gets the pushback. Warranted ornot it happens. I do think the way they handled this Watson deal caused far more bad PR than tbey need. Maybe ignoring him and cutting him at years end due to points could have been better. They don't need the bad PR right now. If Watson was such anon factor to them then I doubt they would have even given it any attention. Now they made him a martyr for the cause.

I do as well, Mark. The constant changes at BPT have been a drag for sure. Watson will be fine if he keeps fishing and doesn't lose all his sponsors. Plus he made a fortune in the residential real estate market. Sold out and retired so Watson can afford to fish if he chooses.

"Their opinions would be different if it had worked out"? No $**T. However, people have been saying this exact thing was going to happen since its inception. That is pretty telling. Go listen to Luke Dunkin, he called this 4 or 5 years ago. Also, there was a guy on here named BigOFLorida that I believe got absolutely slammed on here and basically got a lifetime ban for his unpopular opinion. He is laughing at all you fools now.

ironically Watson and his sponsors got a lot of TV exposure this past weekend on MLF team coverage.........national exposure that he never would have gotten if not for Boyd Duckett (and several more) who created the #1 rated outdoor TV show.... You got them all with this April fools prank! Good job Trapper, they believed the joke of what all you wrote.

People who complain about everything and constantly predict doom eventually get something right. That doesnt make BigO less of an idiot, or others more of one. MLF will make adjustments and be fine. How old is BASS vs MLF? Does anyone really believe there were not significant changes in how things were done? If I remember correctly, at first, everyone was provided a boat to fish out of. That changed. Then 10 fish limits. That changed. MLF tried something new, it didnt work so they made adjustments. Something else that helped was having Trip Weldon for all those years, that gave them the consistency and moral clarity that MLF could use at this point in their business model.

My issue is with how Boyd inconsistently handles various issues.
One angler has a rough day and decides its in his best issues to skip day 2 and go fish another tournament. Was threatened with a Suspension.
Countless anglers caught outright cheating on camera and they are either fined or its swept under the rug.
Watson hears an angler had an inconclusive poly above him so he may get to fish final day. He attempts to ask Boyd and Gary if he is fishing and they avoid him. He asks around tells other people what he was told and he gets fined for violating the NDA. Boyd then cuts the field and Watson calls him out for breaking promises made to anglers in this new "Angler Run League" and he is fined again. Then Watson hurts Boyd's feelings and he receives a suspension that essentially ends his career on the BPT.
i just don't think the punishments fit the crimes and for some Anglers their actions just get swept under the rug.
I think everybody, including Watson, knew where the "Fishing Boat Docks" was going to lead to, but my issues with Boyd and how he has run things was his inconsistencies before that. The fact the man wouldn't even have a conversation with Watson is enough for me to no longer tune in. They also had some anglers qualify according to all rules of BPT only for them to change the rules so these anglers had to attempt to qualify again. IMO Boyd is turning what was an extremely good thing into a cluster.
No matter what there will always be anglers with money in hand waiting to sign up though.

Fouz, I know you know more than most of us due to your close ties to individuals that compete and/or are connected to management at MLF. Good to see you posting, hope all is well for you and the Mrs.

Was more of a educated guess in my opinion, seeing as how he and a handful of others called this almost 100%. I get that Boyd is your daddy, but defending him and mlf with everything that has come out in the last year? Come on man. Don't be one of the stupid ones.

He didn’t speculate the COVID but nothing really changed during that of any significance anyhow. Most people are stupid.

I'm confused. Exactly what did BigO predict that almost 100% came true? That some guy would get suspended for talking sh about the owner of the league he fishes? I must have missed that one.
