This is the truth from the guy that is one of the two most successful men in pro fishing history and the oldest active competitor, Rick Clunn.
This is not Mark Menendez, Matt Heren, Randy Blaukunt or any other old guy that are in fear of losing their free ride. Clunn has said what they were right about bass and patterns was maybe 20-30%.

In 2 minutes Clunn dispels all the BS that the olds are trying to spin and sell to the world. He shuts their narratives down.

The GOAT has spoken. Get off the tracks or get to work before the train runs your butt over.

Here's another video I ran across a while back and it may have been on here. I don't have an opinion one way or the other on FFS; I'll do that after I've fished with it a while, but here is another angle to look at it. FFS how it actually works

He was not talking about its affect on competitive bass fishing as much as he was talking about how it reveals more about bass behavior and how to find them.

Here is a more recent interview with him saying that from now on you can't say you're the best if you don't use FFS. A statement I totally disagree with. Take a bunch of these new fishermen and put them on a lake without their fancy boat electronics and they can't win a thing.
FFS may be the start of different levels of competitive bass fishing. None of the FFS experts, or relatively few can compete without it. None of the non FFS experts, or relatively few can compete with it.

The guy who can go out and catch the most fish without all the newest tech will always be the best IMO.
The guy who knows the most about their environment, what affects them and what makes them bite.

So yall wanna ban gas stoves too right? How about guns normal people can't afford that are specifically balanced and designed to help the owner stay on target? Or high powered scopes? That does seem fair. Being able.to see a target then shoot it using an expensive complicated device should be banned too after ffs obviously. OBVIOUSLY.

When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip!

I doubt any of our opinions will sway BASS or MLF.
Doubt Clunn's will either
If the majority of the elites decided they were against it, changes will be made

I think you show up just to be the antagonist.

Nobody is right or wrong.

Its all opinions and everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I can't get over how so many act when someone doesn't share their opinion. Do these same people react the same when they disagree with their loved ones? I guess that is why the divorce rate is so high.

I think I'm one of the luckiest guys alive to be married to the woman I am married to. I have zero complaints about my wife, but that doesn't mean we always agree on everything. When we do disagree, at the end of the day we still love each other.

The moment you disagree with many on here, the labels start flying. I just don't get it. You would swear its a high school forum at times.

I don't see what's antagonizing about Allison's post above.

What Rick is saying kind of reminds me of when I switched from gun hunting to bow hunting whitetail deer. I really had to start watching them a lot longer and a lot closer and I learned more about their behavior the first year I bow hunted them that I did in my entire lifetime.

Here is more of what Clunn had to say. This thread has gotten the exact response on here I knew it would. The ones on here screaming ALL the older pros are against now are saying that what Clunn said doesn't support the use of it. Listen closely at the 2:27 mark

I don't know what it is about Mercer on these podcats, but he always sounds like he's luring little kids into his van the way he talks... very creepy.

Who on here says Clunn doesn't support it? What I heard him actually say was that it was way too early to give an honest opinion on FFS. He mentions the possibility of it going too far as well as some good information it provides. He pretty much sounds neutral on it to me. Guess if you're just trying to stir the pot, you could hear it anyway you see fit.
