Touché 😀 Sadly, no. I spend more time on the internet than I should. I just naively expect bass anglers to be more chill 👍🏻

For y’all who don’t do Facebook Something not adding up. How does one literally run their entire boat onto dry land like that, foggy or not? If visibility was good, was the operator intoxicated or high? If visibility was poor, did your chart not show you the gigantic slab of land right there? Hope everyone is okay. It's just a matter of taking responsibility your actions is all

This [censored] happens way to often in bass tournaments. The most frustrating part is when you run like an idiot in bad conditions, you put everyone in danger. The "my electronics froze" argument is a stupid one. If visibility is so bad that your only way of navigation is your electronics, you should be at idle. Especially in a tournament situation with lots of traffic. In theory your gps should keep you from hitting shore, but it doesn't do a thing to keep you from hitting other boats. I'm not trying to rub salt in the wound of those that are injured, but this type of stuff just shouldn't happen. It's a danger to everyone on the lake.

What's the saying... “Oh, what a tangled web we weave... Will a tournament director in the future have the nads to ban the boat driver from future tournaments he runs???... That's the only way to stop this bull snot... Dan

Hope everyone ends up healthy and recovered, hate to see so many people jumping on these folks all the while only knowing the end results, how do we know it wasn't a mechanical issue?

Gimme a break they would’ve been shouting that from the rooftops of that was the case. The mechanical issue that broke was between the ears. Allegedly….

I dont think anybody thats ever owned a bass boat hasn't done something usafe at some point in their lives on the water. Absolutely none of us or perfect. I mean I did it yesterday. I was running literally feet from stumps and above water trees. Could have done it at 20 but chose to do it it faster. If something happens Im gonna own it and my wife knows it. I also fish by myself 99 percent of the time.

That's it! Bass tournaments should now require all competition boats to have both boat running data recorder (aka black box) and voice data recorder (aka other black box) installed before you can compete. Well maybe the voice data recorder will be of little value. It may contain "Hey watch this" followed by "OHHHHHHH SHEEEEEEEEEIT!". That will fix everything.

I remember a few years ago in a champs tournament on Rayburn we drew boat #1. we put in a Mill Creek and was gonna come to Umphrey for take off in dark which we had done numerous times. We left Mill Creek doing about 45 as I had trails to Umphrey and before we got near Needmore point the fog got so bad we could barely see the nose of boat in dark. I dropped it down to a little over idle speed and we got there. However when getting close to Umphrey all the lights form the pavilion confused us and realized that I needed to stay looking at GPS. That fog will screw with your head quick and we were not going but maybe 20 at that time. I have heard fog will mess with GPS, I have not experienced that. I do know looking at fog without a GPS will screw with a fisherman's head. The guy may have thought he was clear of the island. Everything is speculation except speed, that cannot be speculated as far up as they went. Just pray the guy that was seriously injured gets better quickly.
