I remember one morning while fishing the Big Bass Splash many years ago it was foggy as can be. The kind of fog that you can't see anything through. As with that tournament, you can almost walk across the lake just stepping boat deck to boat deck. Here we sit, in the fog, waiting for the official start time. While we are sitting there, all I hear is some idiot running WFO, somewhere near us.

The pucker factor was high hearing that motor get louder and louder in the fog.

100% agree. It's a shame but running in the fog is beyond stupid. It's just a fish.

Yup I’ve had to idle up the motor and be looking around ready to hit the throttle cause you can hear the idiot getting closer.

Yep idle. Been there done that at the 515 ramp @ Fork. Got there and it was literally zero visibility. It was a bass club deal and we all launched. At about daylight one of our guys decided to head south idling from there so we all followed him; about a dozen of us, still @ zero visibility and no one had GPS. We'd probably idled along thinking we were headed south for probably 30 minutes to an hour. When the fog lifted enough we could see where we were, we were probably less than 50 yards from the 515 bridge. We'd spent the entire time idling in a circle, that is just how disorienting fog can be.
Prayers up for these guys.

I saw a Champion on the peninsula just outside the ramp at Squaw Cr one time.
A month later I saw a Skeeter on the same peninsula.

Neither of them were upside down nor near as far out of the water as this one.

I think it is in very poor taste to even joke about this. Hopefully all are doing well that were involved in the accident.

My son and I were in a tournament once in super foggy conditions and we were idling to our area but all around us were boats flying by us going WOT. Not a fun situation to be in and differently made us wonder why we wanted to be fishing with a bunch of idiots.

That’s because Bass Cats are fast!

Thanks Jake.

I agree it is in very poor taste to be joking about this.
