Here's something we haven't argued...at least I don't remember it. I piss my wife off every time she sends me to the store for a loaf of bread (she actually prefers thin sliced ) and I come home with this:



What's the best white bread? Is there really a difference or is it like arguing the best bottled water?

I'll give you a solid "A" on your choice based on Mrs Baird's, thick sliced Texas Toast cut (It is Texas anyway), and the fact that if you're doing the actual shopping you get what you want.

Bolillos make good sandwiches. They're white bread.

For the freshest bread, pull from the bottom shelf. They move the older stuff to eye level so it sells

Mrs. Baird's is now our go to brand. During the VID, it was the only consistently in stock and reasonably priced. Thank you TX bakers.

If we buy white bread, we buy Pepperidge Farms Homestyle White.

Mrs Bairds is still the best, but for some reason it’s not near as good as it once was.

The only "white bread" we have bought in the past 30 or 40 years is Sourdough or French Garlic bread.

I haven't had white bread in years.

We buy Sunbeam or Wonder. We don't like the taste or texture of Mrs. Baird's as well. Sunbeam is softer and tastes fresher.

I love bread, that being said, no white bread here, bad for blood sugar

I mean I prefer sourdough, french, potato, hawaiian, yeast rolls or some buttermilk bisquits for most every occasion. But it's hard to keep everything fresh in the pantry/fridge. A loaf of plain white bread is good for versatility. Besides, what else would you use to sop up an over easy egg or bean juice or to make a grilled cheese sandwich?

Have not bought nor ate white bread in decades.
