I use DISH. Most of my neighbors use DISH. We are rural. Starlink is probably cheaper than dish then you can stream all the channels.

Streaming is confusing. When we go see the kids or stay in some short term rentals, they use streaming and we have no freaking clue how to use it. They say we have all of these streaming sources that show thousands of movie titles. I don't want to see a damn movie. I want local channels, outdoor channels, history channel, golf channel and cooking channel. I also want the ability to record shows. That should not be that hard and it should cost 5 cents.

Honestly Roadrunner you posted how I feel also- I jumped ship and joined the streaming world for about a year- I just didn’t enjoy the TV experience while streaming , I understand its the future but I’m just not there yet- I kinda feel like that person who stays married to someone because its just comfortable, even though I don’t feel loved and appreciated- I know Dish doesn’t love me, but I don’t want to leave it- I see streaming when it flirts with me, but I don’t think it’s changed-

I don’t necessarily care for streaming. I’m use to dish and like it. I’m gonna bet that they eventually will have to come down on prices to be competitive

Beat me to it. My SIL and daughter stream. Gives me a headache when they have to go through all these apps to find something. Glad my nieces husband was there Xmas eve to figure out how to get the Cowboy game. DISH is easy. You just pull up the guide find what you want and click on it. I have locals on DISH only because of deer lease. OTA antenna is just backup at the house. Key to DISH is to renegotiate every year to keep price down. Last time I received a $60 monthly bill credit and a 1 time $40 credit. I have never talked to a CSR from India. Last time I thanked the CSR for speaking English. He said he was in Iowa.

Had DIRECTV for long time and canceled. We use Starlink and have a OTA for locals. There’s a lot of free apps you can use to watch movies and such. I think Hallmark channel for the wife is six bucks a month. We have the Samsung app that came with the TV and it has a lot of channels with movies as well. Also, we use Amazon prime and there’s a ton of movies on that as well. We ain’t going back to Direct or dish. We are out in the sticks so satellite service is our only option.

Im holding off on the streaming for now also. I hate and love directv, but I don’t think we’re going to stay with it when we move. Imma get the most basic cable available and live with it, and a Bluetooth tv and connect with my iPad.

Dish is done. Has been for a while now. Old technology. Expensive. Hemorrhaging customers at the rate of 500K every quarter. At that rate it's just a matter of time. I'm surprised they've lasted this long. AT&T saw the writing on the wall and couldn't unload DirecTV fast enough. https://www.imdb.com/news/ni64069804/
