did the high school tournament have their weigh-in at same place as the elites.....if so....would that have increased the numbers of spectators at weigh-in....19,000is a huge number, assume that is a total for all 4 days of the weigh-ins?

I miss me some Luby’s some times. Old school Grandy’s too! Now I am hungry for some liver and onions and chicken fried steak.

Should be mandatory that each competitor provide an extra screen, link, something so the viewership can see what they see at all times (while on camera). We get it part time now, we need it full time to fight the boredom.

Hey old guys, did people whine and complain this much when LCDs replaced paper graphs and flashers?

I'm 70 and I am not complaining or whining about the new technology because I like seeing a lot of it come about. But I will say back in the day I had some guys who stayed with the Flashers when LCD's came out for a long time because they were so used to them and saw them still win tournaments and Angler of the Year titles. In fact one of my first tournament partners won 11 Club Angler of the Year titles over the years and when I first started fishing with him he didn't have his graph turned on and I asked him what he did for checking out the bottom structure and layout. He said I've got it right here as he leaned over and picked up his Carolina rig. roflmao

While I own one, I hate the technology for tournament fishing.

I just think years of experience and ability to figure out patterns should provide more of an edge than your ability to read a screen.

I wish it were never invented, but I think banning technology is a slippery slope we shouldn't go down.

I think limiting the number of FFS transducers is the most reasonable approach, but doubt it will have much of an effect on anything.

I think it’s a misnomer to say it you don’t have to figure out a pattern or have a ton of experience/skill to succeed with livescope, it really sells short the amount of talent those guys have.

The guys that are extremely good with FFS use the same pattern 12 months out of the year. Put the trolling motor on high, find a fish, throw a swimbait, jerk bait, or swim jig at fish, Repeat.

Now don't confuse me with saying its easy, but the approach is nearly the same. It definitely takes skill and talent.

But years of experience figuring out fish patterns during pre-spawn, spawn, Post-spawn, summer heat, etc is nowhere near as valuable today as it was a few short years ago.

Flashers were more real time, LCD had a delay, thats why some preferred the older tech back then.

Be interesting to see if studies prove or disprove fish being targeting in the abyss now is affecting seasonal movements, some are suggesting it already but not seen definitive scientific data on it yet. It's coming.

Flashers are not more real time than LCD. You just have to turn on Amplitude Scope or watch the right edge of the screen.
