There's several factors:
1) Visibility 2) Sink rate 3) Abrasion resistance
Flouro has some traits that braid doesn't, so you get the best of both worlds. I do agree that your weakest link is usually at the knots or the lowest pound test. ^^^exactly…best of both worlds If I had the tolerance for babysitting and retying fluoro. Fluoro is also very dense, providing excellent lure to hand connectivity and feel. Fluoro gives you a sensation that you know exactly what your bait is doing in the water….can’t be replicated by any other line option. That said, I gave up on fluoro ten years ago for lower maintenance, better shock strength, better abrasion resistant Pline and Yozuri coplymers……if I tournament fished, I’d suck it up and go back to fluoro leaders for wacky and just commit myself to lots more retying.

Braids Daiwa J Braid Grand 8, chartreuse, 15# Sunline Siglon PEx8, Orange, 16# Sunline SX1, Hi-Vis Yellow, 16#
Leaders Sunline FC Sniper, 10# Sunline FC Leader, 10#
I think I’m above average with a spinning rod. I usually have 4-5 rods rigged up on the deck each outing. A drop shot is my crutch to get bites.

20# pink from china with 15# big game leader. I like a long leader with FG knot.

20 pound with a varying leader. Sometimes a high as 15 lb leader. Usually a 10 pound leader. Make your leader the length of the rod, from tip to bail. This way the leader knot isn’t in the spool when casting. Use an Alberto knot. 8 wraps up, 9 back. It will be a very strong, skinny knot. I concur with this The problem is it takes me readers a bright light and 15 minutes to tie that damn knot so once I break off that rod is done for the day.......

It is one to tie in the garage the night before. I’ve done it on a windy day a few times and it’s hit or miss.
