What a day for a fire to break out. I've been praying that we would avoid that but knew it was inevitable with the lack of rain. We could have a 1" rain out here where I'm at and with this wind, the grass would be dried out enough to burn the very next day. Prayers for those affected by this fire.

We just bought a ranch just north of childress, we do not have any livestock or structures on the ranch but sure would hate for it to burn, although I know it could be good for the land, it could be bad for others.

Then why buy there?
Is it cursed land? Does it not have a deep history of plain fires? Where the grass, but not you, will come back a deep, healthy green. Rejuvenated.
I didn't devise or invent it.
But I'll take your deep felt feelings of losing it all. After I build my new house. On your burnt out property.
I'm sorry. Texas can be rough. Following your remarks. It all sounds like real DB talk

No.
It's not good for the people that didn't explain it out, to the people buying homes in that area. Homes???? These fires are huge. They don’t just wreck homes. There will be livestock killed, farming/ranching infrastructure destroyed, businesses destroyed, and in some cases towns destroyed and possibly people killed. Grass fires moving at 50 miles a hour are devastating to anything in their way. In this wind they aren’t going to stop it. You might as well just keep yourself in Bell County with your head in the 1800’s.

Family is everything! Life is precious. We don’t have forever. We have now. This moment. We can choose to love our lives now.

Starting to impact counties in S.W. OK. Wind shift to the North overnight may temporarily lessen the problem for them

I watched YouTube videos last night. One fire jumped a highway without a problem. No way a person could out run it if their vehicle became disabled.
Fire is a good thing, if we all still lived in teepees. Years ago, I lived at the edge of the Lubbock city limits. The field across the street was burning like on the videos and the city forced us to evacuate until the fire burned itself out.
